Stopping mid-step, Lothran turns his head to face the man along with the rest of his body. Brushing the cape out off of his sides, he rests his hands upon the hilt of kukiri like dagger and a hunter's pistol. The beady eyes of his crow mask bore into the man's head, searching for a sign of possible aggression or beasthood.
"What is a fellow hunter like yourself resting on a night like this, perfect for the hunt may I ask? Perhaps..."
His grip on the dagger and pistol tightens.
"My duty has finally caught up to me. Tell me, fellow hunter, what be thine purpose tonight?"

"Oh you know, killing monsters..." He tapped the corpse's face with his meathook. Turns it is also one of those half-beasts. And how he killed it? A large hole can be seen on it's scalp. Possibly from his meathook.

His grip on the blade and and pistol relax slightly, but his posture stays in that of one ready to react to whatever the situation. His hands still lightly caress the grips of the weapons as if it comforts him to know he has them by his side. A few moments of eery silence commence before he speaks again. "And what keeps me from knowing you yourself have not been taken over by the hunt? A hunter must resist the urge to give into their fantasies, lest the line between man and beast begins to blur." His voice is calm and collected, as if he's asked this question many times before. However, his posture shows he's used to encountering those who have been absorbed too deeply in their work, transforming in murdering beasts.

Him? Getting infected? Heh. Like that's ever happen. He did make sure to quarantine himself from the plague when killing them. "So this is the only way I know I can gain your trust: I stick with you, but not too closely. And if I turn into one of them, I'll just let you go ahead and slice me open. Deal?"

His posture slightly relaxing, his right hand moves away from the handle of the strange dagger. However, his left stays close to the handle of the pistol as a precaution against any unexpected trickery. He stands up straight, brushing his blood-soaked cape aside. "Frail promises made by a fellow hinter, how quaint. Alas, I am struggling to keep this place pure, and a fellow hunter would be useful... Yes, yes indeed, even somebody who can and will hinder our progress would be of some use..." He chuckles softly as he talks out loud to himself, his conversation going as if the other hunter wasn't even there.

"Fair enough... You lead." Sanford placed his hook somewhere within his belt, which held all the basic necessities for a hunter. He also picked up his guns and put on their safeties.

Turning his body around, he shakes his head as if saying no too the notion of being followed around. Brushing the cape out of his way and slightly turning his head, he spoke to the man. "Do not follow me down this path. I'd rather not have somebody tagging along like a stray mutt. Instead, I will leave you these two bells." He takes a large bell and a smaller bell out of a pocket. "Use the large bell to beckon me forth when my assistance is needed. If I ever need your help, I shall simply ring mine, and you will simply have to respond by ringing the smaller one to be summoned to my location." He set the bells down on the ground before starting to walk away. "Nothing personal, I just have an aversion to working with others. I've payed in blood for others mistakes before."
-
"I see. Can't trust anyone, huh?" He picked up the bells.
-
Before rounding the corner, he turned his head towards the man. "I'll be seeing you soon, I presume. My name... Is Lothran." With that, he turns around the corner, disappearing into the night.

He turned into the other direction, hook and revolver out.
What else?
