Why criticize when you could help?

  • Criticism is good for accountability. The dojo had a really good idea going for it, but unfortunately was squandered by immaturity. If fighting in the dojo is akin to mind chess, people need to either admit being outplayed or step up their game and think outside the box. Victory doesn't always have to be accomplished through entertainment. Victory shouldn't be guaranteed by entitlement. It must be earned and challenging to attain (unless you're going easy on the opponent of course). That's what I entered the previous dojo for: to exercise imagination of certain characters and understand the various strengths and weakness of different abilities. Not some bland dragonball z trading attacks back and forth fighting (the only awesome tactic that comes to mind of that series was Goku's Warp Kamehameha). Jason Bourne had more realistic fighting depiction of each opponent countering until it came down to making a minor mistake. Either method of fighting is fine, and I'd be down for both, but people shouldn't ban or kill others because they're losing or getting frustrated (which is what happened to me, (by a lieutenant with ninja or mortar in their name) and it was really a let down from the potential I saw in the place). God-moding is understandably frowned upon. But what equally should be frowned upon is the God-complex some of the lieutenants seemed to have developed. Also, some of the abilities I've given my characters placed me upon grounds of being banned/killed, even though I merely asked if I could use them or simply even just having those abilities (even though I chose not to use them for the sake of fairness within duels). TL;DR the dojo demonstrated a lack of discernment, patience, and discipline. All traits that are integral to an effective dojo.
