Its destiny 2. It can be an rts if they wish. I cant believe the community is allowing dlc to invalidate entire consoles. I get going strictly current gen for any game debuting this year or next or last, but not a game that is still currently sold as a last gen title. I know of no other titles that have ever had dlc make entire consoles obsolete.

If it did happen it was ten years ago and expansions were not all that common if at all for ps2 or xbox whatever.

Ive been fortunate enough to play online games for longer than 10 years and no, i have never before seen this practiced in the gaming world. Planned obsolescence is normal, but this is dlc making a console void.... Never happened before and people defend this. If you defend R.O.I. you do not comprehend value. Destiny is a 360 and ps3 title. This dlc is theft plain and simple.
-
Yes but games that had dlc would have been computer games back when the last console upgrade happened. I don't remember getting dlc on my atari thru ps2. This is the first time this situation has ever happened on console. Computer dlc comes out all the time that requires better hardware. It's pretty mormal. I support ROI completely, f those obsolete consoles holding Destiny back.

Dlc was around for ps2 and original xbox. None of which ever had required you to upgrade your systems. The fact you bring up comps makes me think i shouldnt feed your troll self but I'll test my theory about you first, the companies that used dlc to make their comp games obsolete... Were there titles tied to the make and model of computer the were to be played on? Were there triple A title games that required you to play on a dell as opposed to a mac or hp? You seem to not comprehemd the issues.

I'm talking hardware upgrades. I'm not trolling you. The last gen consoles are obsolete and the only way to upgrade the hardware is to get a new system. Destiny is still support on the ps3 and 360 just not upgradeable because of hardware issues.

I absolutely support phasing out last gen consoles. I too believe that older technology holds back the potential of new games and content. That doesnt mean that a game that is licensed to be sold as an old gen title should have dlc that invalidates its content. Once Destiny becomes current gen only, they could do whatever they want, but to do it under a current old gen license is theft. People thought theyd be playing destiny 1 on old gen til the new gen only destiny 2 dropped. As its always been done. There was no precedent to have dlc make a console obsolete. Defending this business ethic is whats made america crap in economics.

What? We were not even sure there would be sequels. I actually thought they would just give us DLC for 10 years. Bungie never marketed Destiny as a 10 year long old gen game.
-
Lmfao! You just argued yourself. Was i supposed to have input? K...?
-
Destiny was supposed to release instead of Rise of Iron, so old gen got phased out when planned. I'm not sure why you were "lmoa" bit I'm not arguing with myself. I see good business practice for Microsoft and Sony.
-
Lmfao!!! You just defended lazy failures.... Literally. They didnt keep their deadline for the games release and they used a dlc to invalidate entire consoles... Yeah man, great business practices. Customer loyalty and retention isnt important. Business ethics... Not a thing.
-
Business ethics? Business is about making money. Customer retention? Rise of Iron was the top selling add on in PS store when it was released. Destiny is still one of the most popular games out there, Bungie is doing fine.
