The article is really wishy-washy. It's like the guy doesn't even play Destiny.
He says it's okay to port over our characters but not their gear? He assumes that D2 will be like every other game ever made (and it might be) and makes no case for bungie's ability to innovate.
Personally, I think the article is crap and should be ignored by all. It's trite click-bait plus a shout-out to Tassi, author of a terrible trilogy.

Innovate???, you do realize this is the people that had a full game 2 years ago, but one month before it's release decided to chop it up in pieces for the sake of sales. Also how can they innovate if we move on with the same useless crap, because do not doubt our current gear is crap and come the 13th it will be even bigger crap since you'll have to start over once again getting new gear, leveling again, and seeing all the gear you've collected over the past year become useless.

Bungie didn't make the decision to divide the game up: Activision made them do it. They had no choice in the matter.

Bungie leadership made the decision to divide the game up because it was convoluted and Activision had nothing to do with it... per the unsubstantiated Kotaku article based on the unnamed Bungie worker... factish-like? Hasn't it been only us making the claim that Bungie is innocent, while the big bad Activision are the villains at fault? I'd love to read any source you have. If you just slightly remember some details about where you heard something, I'd be fine to look out for it. We've been talking about this a long time, and what I remember is that there's only been talk.
