You get kills when you run the spark and unless your that one guy who spawn flips thinking you need every point that screws over your team yes you need to kill to cap a point.
And not if they are playing clash/elimination

You're still not listening...and you're still wrong... K/d is not the be all end all you think it is which is why some people with 1.53's have higher elo's than some with 4.95.... If someone runs spark, and does not get to the rift, they don't necessarily kill anyone. This is why my friend has a terrible k/d but still destroys you in combat rating...

When did I say k/d was the be all to anything? But I don't know any .3's with a high elo in anything.
