As it stands right now. I won't be joining you guys in Destiny 2. I haven't heard a peep about dedicated servers and scrapping this horrid P2P junk. I'm concerned with the design choices, the rumors of the game being "Rebooted". I didn't appreciate the paywalls in the current iteration of Destiny. You know.... The ol' Here's our new expansion, people that didn't buy it can still play, but no longer have access to 2/3 of the stuff you used to have. Their handling of last gen was out of line (it's my opinion and i stand by it) The handling of patches that are important to players (such as bugged drops, that are neglected in a patch while something that people spend silver on is patched overnight) Still no match making? Really! pssshhhh.... BS "It'll ruin the experience", they say. Total crap, not buying it. Raids in Final Fantasy XIV are much more complicated and team oriented, and they offer it. I've picked up many randoms with a partially preformed team and back packed them through. I have also been carried through activities. "What if they don't have MICs?" oh no!!! plz help! FFXIV doesn't even have a voice chat option "What about AFKers?" #vote2kick #rekt "People will troll a vote to kick system" Doesn't happen that often in FFXIV. People usually need those randoms, and are usually willing to teach the content and not kick them. I've also been asked to leave a Raid in FFXIV, I did so without argument, It was clearly beyond my skill level and stats at the time. I've invested heavily in Destiny so far, but more has to be done. Bungie needs to figure out how to push out more content faster. They also need to figure out how to balance a game with more than a nerf sledgehammer. I don't want to outright vilify them, SO... I'll highlight a few positive changes. 1. 1:1 infusion 2. More paths for max light 3. Direct sources defined for max level gear 4. the upcoming faction package choices. These things really quelled most of my #humanedesign issues. I'm open to opposing views and civilized discussion. So let me know what you guys think.

I might come back for 2 IF it is a completely new system, and doesn't feel like another DLC add on. I would prefer it to be a standalone package, new features, new PvP, new leveling system, new everything. For that I won't mind starting from scratch since it is a whole new adventure (Without the "no time to explain" BS hopefully). However, if it is more of the same I might hold off. I also play the Division, and quite honestly that is in an even worse state as it stand now. So it could be worse. Some of the matchmaking features there I wished existed in Destiny though, but PvP in Destiny beats it hands down. I like games for different reasons, but I hope Destiny 2 is a completely new standalone game with completely new mechanics, and learn from the mistakes made in the current Destiny, and other games out there like the Division.

  • I'm not sure on the Raid MM and the reason for this is Nightfall. Now I know that NF doesn't have MM but in an interview with Deej (I'll give the source if asked) the interviewer asked if NF will be brought back to it's prime like in Y1. Deej said that the reason it turned out like this would be so that it could be more forgiving to people who played solo. Now you don't need anything to do a night fall and I know people were already able to do it without mics but it was hard for others, so Bungie fixed the problem. And they really did, now people see NF as a normal strike. The problem is that now it's not as good as it was in Y1. I fear that what happened to NF will happens to raids so I go with no MM. It's not that I hate MM, it just that Bungie takes 1 step forward and 2 steps back in most cases.

I might not come back for 2 ? wont decide till closer to release but good post am with ya :) the whole match making raid thing and people whining ? well they whine anyway and they find things to whine about those that whine against it always say they have a full clan all the time so what do they care ? just have a switch to turn it on or off when going in as a choice like we do for levels have a vote kick system if you get a jerk being a jerk say vote to boot and people can decide :) but has to be like 4 out of 6 but those who dont always have a full group and dont want the hassle of LFG or make a set where you can see some folks waiting and you can check them out before hand and join that lobby you want ! that and the pvp lag is just so freaking bad lots of great things about destiny but also lots of bad things I pretty much only play one or two games older guy and my kids play a huge range but for me easy to remember one set of controls :)

  •
1. 1:1 infusion 2. More paths for max light 3. Direct sources defined for max level gear 4. the upcoming faction package choices.
In my opinion, 1 and 2 are really hurting the game. I know that's not a popular opionion, and I'll be called an elitist for it which really kind of sucks. I don't think that everyone should be locked away from max light, but I think if you're not doing the activities that require it, why does it matter? Add to that the fact that I think raids are some of the best content in the game, well, I think you should have to do them to reach max light. As far as Raid MM goes, you use Final Fantasy ##### as an example...but how many people played that? Did it have the numbers that Destiny does? Did it have the age variation and experience gaps that we see? Was there good reason to do them? Destiny has a very large player base of varying ages, and at this point you don't need to do the raid to get good, or even max light gear. The other thing for me with Raid MM is this: I don't trust Bungie to do a good job with it. I don't think they are capable of making the MM optional, and I don't think they'd implement some kind of LFG system, which raids need. As it stands right now, you can use the app that we all use anyways to put a team together...I really don't see why that's a problem. For me right now, the fact that I HAVE to be paired with randoms in strikes really sucks. Don't get me wrong, I appreciated it when I first started doing weeklies...but sometimes I wanna solo stuff, or just run with my roommate, like we used to with Halo.

Well p2p connection can work if it is written correctly, if they do decide to stay with p2p than they do need rewrite it. I understand people cry for matchmaking on raid but simple put this community will complain about it just a few hours of it been active. Now you suggested the vote to kick system, honestly this is one of the most abused system in multiply player games. I suggest a lfg vender in the social spaces where you can select the raid you want to do, it difficulty and how many people you need. Than people can join if they like, this way it stop people putting restriction on people join because they don't have certain weapon. Also long the person meets the required light level they can join. Also truth be told the game shouldn't of never been on the last gen console, yes how they handled the matter was messy but had to be done for the future of the game.

  • I stand with you but for different reasons. I find it completely insulting as a Y1 player to be told my favorite, beloved gear which I used to carve out my legend during Y1 will not carry forward into Y3, but Y2 players will have their gear carried forward. That combined with the whittle down balancing approach, nerfs of our favorite weapons and subclasses for the sake of PVP, making the game cater to casuals by making it so easy to get loot that they fear giving us really GOOD loot for fear it'll wreck PVP balance, removal of things that make PVE fun like elemental primaries, etc. They've made so many bad choices, and IMO, RoI is their chance to reverse A LOT of them. If they don't reverse at least SOME critical ones, like the removal of elemental primaries and forced obsolescence of Y1 gear, I will not buy into RoI or D2. I'm just done. There are too many good games out there to play to continue to throw good money at a bad game in hopes that they will finally get things right.

  • Y1 gear is gone. Those things will never come back. Don't get me wrong, I loved my fatebringer. If only I could have one Y1 gun to move forward, it would be the fatebringer. That is also why they removed Y1 weapons as they were. They know that even now, the weapon of choice would be the fatebringer for all PVE activities, unless the activity was solar, or void burn. The next weapon of choice would be vision. I think however though my beloved fatebringer is gone, I do think we should still get elemental primaries, and they can do it without screwing up the weapon diversity. They could give us elemental cores we could infuse into any primary. So you could make your hung jury void, your finalis peril solar, and your doctrine of passing void ect.
