Thats kinda my point. Because i did good from the get go, the game thinks i am that "good" and quickly ups me in the ranking system (SBMM), even tho i was clearly not ready for it level/weapon, or even skill wise. I mean, how fun is it for a new player to be thrown into the deep side of the pool before he really can swim? Sure he made it out there but is now drowning with no way of making it back to shore.. LOL, might not be the best comparison but the point stays the same :D

  • Couldn't have said it better! However, I think if you are good as a new starter then it is because you are really good. I played with someone who was a natural COD and MW, BF sniping camper and he was so natural in PvP camping in Destiny in Y1 in his first match that I just couldn't believe most of the things I saw. He started Destiny in July 15 and randomly got the Thorn bounty on his hunter. It took him mere 3-4 crucible matches to complete it with a rare void sniper all while camping. I know that y1 match making was different but if you are skilled, it makes a difference. Thorn bounty on hunter was slowest as there were no void ability kills back then. SBMM just makes it an algorithm and although this dude quit Destiny but I am sure in new world, he would be a good fight in some map like Pantheon. I agree with your point that new players will have a struggle but it's very difficult to differentiate between experienced and skills player or new comers who are really skilled and I don't want Bungie to match me based on number of hours I have put in this game! :)
