Your router is your network gateway, and will have a static IP already on the LAN side. Based on what you're telling us it's probably 192.168.0.1 or something similar, and DHCP is set up to hand out 192.168.0.2 - 244 (or something similar). He's talking about assigning a static ip to your console as well. If what you're telling us is correct, you could reserve .245 for your console, or actually anything that's excluded from DHCP, which would be anything from .245 - .254. Not that you'll ever need to lease 243 addresses, but it's always best practice not to manually assign an ip address to a system that could potentially also be assigned by DHCP. Hope that helps!
