It's not that it performs worse, when I test console connection wired it is always above 100mbs down 14 up. I am running dual band gigabit router for what it's worth, not a xfinity hand out. Testing console wifi is usually around 70 down, and the same 13-14 up. The problem I see when switched to wired is as if the server has deemed my connection to op and nerfed it by adding input lag. This only happens with destiny's pvp. All other games run perfect.

I can think of at least two ways (might be more) to detect conditions on your LAN. But not without a lot of work, and also a lot of overhead. READ: impractical. So, generally, shouldn't be detectable. Don't know what is up on your system. Oh, and you mentioned your dual-band router. But, that's not all of your hardware. The NIC on your console also counts. So do the ports on the router. So does your cable. Something as simple as a bad solder, or a cable that was crimped can also be factors.
