I may not mess around with my routers settings because I usually have a good connection (apart from when i play with my friends in different continents but hey what can you do) but i will definitely look into that powerline thing you suggested as I am soon moving my ps out of the room the router is in as soon as i can get this bloody monitor. All in all a really helpful post

  • Just bought one today. Definitely worth the £40 investment. Massive positive difference to wifi.

  • They're worth it if you have clean wiring. If you live in an older house it might not be the best solution. It's more about the consistency of connection. You might notice less available bandwidth with the cables, but if the signal strength is solid green (you'll understand if you get them) and you notice on bandwidth tests that you have a consistent ping/speed and no packet loss, then it will actually be just fine.
