Hmmm. I prefer Cat6 or 7. Personally I run my home network with cat 7 and IP v6. i get a boost of 1.5 Gbps on my lan over cat 5 with IP v4. Recent developments in ethernet technology make it possible to get a 10Gb network across copper. I got a 10G lan at work. People really don't need anything above 1gb ethernet at home at the moment due to the connection to ISP is much slower. If home broadband goes to 5GB then I'm raiding my lab at work and stealing a Cisco switch :p

    I an responsible for kit in 5 data centres around Scotland :) Cables don't get tangled unless you are moving things about and generally fudging with stuff that doesn't need to be fudged with.
