No. Mainly because I prefer NOT wearing full sets, so that would incentivize me to do something I don't like.
When I wear a full set, I feel like I am sending a message that I can barely make level and need to wear all gear from the only phase of the game I am good at.
Logical - not really, but the only time I have worn a complete set of anything in the last six or eight months was to unlock the Taken emote.

I wear mismatched armor that I think looks cool. To my friends frustration because he doesn't like my chest piece. The only time I used a full set was when I was messing around at the vestian outpost with the taken emote, stolen will, and full taken armor.

I did that with Dreadfang and said to my fireteam "look guys, I'm a taken!"

Ya, there was also another guy who was doing the same thing and we started dancing. Then another person joined in but he wasn't taken. :(
