Diablo did it before Division did. Some old role playing (pencil and paper) had a similar system in place. It is almost a staple in RPG based games.

  • No need for apologies. I was just trying to be informative. No offense intended. Though I somewhat agree that it isn't needed for Destiny. Unless it is similar to Diablo. In Diablo, you didn't need a full set to get the bonus. Most of the time it was tiered bonuses starting at two, and ending at four. You had about five or six equip slots for armor. So maybe have a two piece bonus, and a three piece bonus which stacks, but not a four piece. If you want an example, I can give you one. If it is implemented the way the OP is suggesting, it will remove any incentive to wear a different armor piece as you would lose the benefit.

  • Also you could never wear any exotics since you would lose the buff from the set which sounds like nonsense.
