Why? They're noob weapons. They don't reward precision or timing, you just spray the trigger.

This is the truth, but it's tough to get people to admit it. Any spray and pray gun should have a high TTK. It's for people that can't aim to at least help out, and that's how it should be.
-
You only said this because you are too salty to admit it is very hard to kill a good player with a LRoF autorifles.

It was a joke dude, in all honesty I think they need a buff, but only to range. The dropoff is ridiculous.
-
Well, you may kiss the darkest part of my white butt.
-
That's funny to hear, considering scouts are VERY easy to use.
-
Noobs weapons? but they kill slower than everything else like a pulse rifle and last word I think you got it mixed up.
-
Edited by The Woolldozer: 7/25/2016 1:05:37 PMIf they killed just as quickly as all other weapon types, there would be no incentive to use any other weapon type. This was the mistake they made when the game released, and they had to do a patch to fix it. Look at the data, auto rifles are still the most used weapon in crucible today. You know why? Obviously, it's not because they are good, it is because all of the noobs use them as they learn how to aim. It's a crutch weapon type. A scout or a hand cannon should always kill faster because they take precision and selective shots. Same with a pulse rifle, but to a slightly lesser degree. I don't know why I waste my time because no one will accept this reality, but I guess I just have more faith in the intellectual integrity of this board than I should.

I don't think that's quite correct. It's more the fact that you can eliminate the impetus to have to be pin-point accurate while aiming, and can concentrate on shot placement and maintaining the shot-string. The 'skill' isn't in the shooting, but in the reading of the engagement; do it wrong and you will lose almost every fight. You have to know when you are in an actionable position, and when you are outgunned to succeed with any AR. Generally, they are just fun guns to use. I main a hand cannon 90% of the time for precise, exacting gun fights, because that's what I enjoy. But when I want to have some fun and blow off some steam, I pull out the Monte or Shadow Price and do a few matches (or an entire IB). They aren't hard to use. They are hard to succeed with. The only kills a noob will get with an AR are clean-up kills, and you can do those with a rock.

My point was that they should be difficult to get kills with because they are easy to use. Holding the spray of bullets on someone should be where the difficulty is, but it still shouldn't kill faster than someone with a HC or scout that lands consistent headshots if for no other reason than your barrage of bullets are making their guns flinch a hell of a lot more than their intermittent bullets.
-
Ok, yeah, I can go with that.
-
this. ive always run precision, HC, thats why the accuracy nerf made me sad. HC supposed to be accurate mid to LR but crucibabies cried and now i sometimes have to resort to AR in crucible. i say what i said using fusion rifle for THORN bounty, i feel dirty... lol

Ease of use makes them a noob weapon. Just because they're a bad choice doesn't make them higher skill. The reason they suck is because there's no sweet spot for them. They'll be too easy to use at hawksaw range if they got buffed. Doctrine and the Banner autos are still jokingly forgiving.

So according to your logic, you must be a noob.
-
id say MIDA is noob. very hard not to kill with
-
The only hard parts are learning the exact shot timing and exactly where in the sights the bullet lands. Other than that, it's a simple gun to fight with.
-
No, just stop. Top players are going to wreck you with anything, auto noob. Quit trying to defend your noob gun. There's a reason doctrine was nerfed. You didn't even have to land all crits. A bad choice doesn't mean a skilled choice.
-
Isn't that the point of every -blam!-ing weapon? Spray until it's dead. Maybe you just suck with autos.
-
Edited by Hunter-Max99: 7/24/2016 11:25:25 PM
Ease of use makes them a noob weapon
*Has Mida and Gasp equipped* I might be a noob. But you're one as well.
just using your logic
-
No. I'd bet my account I'm better than you with any weapon. I get that you suck at aiming and want autos buffed, and that you want the games skill gap compressed like call of duty. Well too bad.
-
see, cant support you. here you are just talking shit
-
Edited by Hunter-Max99: 7/24/2016 11:40:26 PMI never said that I'm better than you. I mostly use Nlb and The first curse anyways. Don't start to talk about aim. Again, you use Mida and the gasp. Funny thing is that I've voted no. I think autos are balanced right know.
So you disagree with your own logic?
Not against anyone who uses mida tlw hawk saw or a skilled hc user

Hawksaw with full auto is easy mode easier than any Auto rifle same thing goes for last word. Full auto weapons are the most used guns in any shooter game Battlefield, Call of Duty etc. So you telling me auto rifles in those games are noob weapons too. Destiny is lacking what most shooter games especially competitive ones have assault rifles.
