Medium Rate of Fire Pulse Rifles In Depth (PDX-41, The Villainy, Final Duty, Herja, Etc.)

If you prefer reading: Long Post The medium rate of fire type of pulse rifle. What are its strengths, weaknesses, and how does it compare to other weapons in the crucible. The Regular Type - Have a total fire rate of 360rpm or 120 Bursts per Minute (bpm) (with delay between bursts included) - A burst fire rate of 900rpm, (fire rate of the actual burst, it is the same for all pulse rifles) - A burst delay of 0.367s - Deal about 20 damage to the body and 30 to the head - It takes 10 body shots to kill or 7 headshots (6 headshots plus 1 body for most targets, note the 7th shot is the 1 shot of the final burst). - This means it will take 4 bursts to kill with only body shots or 3 bursts with headshots (at least 2 headshots needed for the 3 burst). - Maximum TTK (if you get all body shots) is 1.5s and Minimum TTK (if you get enough headshots) is 1s. The Hakke Type (fire 4 rounds per burst) - Have a total fire rate of 480rpm or 120bpm(with delay between bursts included) - A burst fire rate of 900rpm, (fire rate of the actual burst, it is the same for all pulse rifles) - A burst delay of 0.3s - Deal about 15.7 damage to the body and 23.5 to the head - It takes 13 body shots to kill or 9 headshots (at least 7 headshots needed plus 2 body) - This means it will take 4 bursts to kill with only body shots or 3 bursts with headshots (at least 2 headshots needed for the 3 burst). - Maximum TTK (if you get all body shots) is 1.5s and Minimum TTK (if you get enough headshots) is 1s. These pulse rifles are highly reliable medium-to-long range weapons. Although they don’t have an excellent TTK they make up for it with how reliably they can get their 3-burst kill. The moderate time between bursts gives you time to aim more accurately to hit the few headshots needed. As well if you can manage to hit all your headshots you will be rewarded with a slightly quicker kill time. These pulses excel in medium and long range combat due to their overall good stability and range. The slow TTK and fire rate is not great for close quarters; it might be wise to carry a shotgun or sidearm in your special slot. I would not say that these are too suitable for competitive matches but are a fine choice for casual play. Of the two types available the hakke are statistically a better choice, although the 4 round burst makes landing all shots in a burst as headshots difficult. The regular type is in my opinion better although it really depended on personal preference. With these weapons try maximize stability and look for perks that increase the reload speed. Also Headseeker is an ideal perk especially on the hakke type. Overall these are some of the most average weapons. They are some of the most consistent and reliable weapons in the crucible and have ease of use that is almost completely unmatched. Do you like medium rate of fire pulse rifles?
