Reese takes a look at the young woman. Clara, not knowing who she was, hides behind him, stretching her neck a several inches to peer over Reese's shoulder.
"Oh, hey! Are you a friend of Mortar's?" Reese asked. He was somewhat fascinated; something told him she wasn't from any nearby planetary system that [i]he[/i] was from.

"Why yes I am! In fact this is his monastery."

"Oh, that's great!" Reese exclaimed. "I'm Reese, and this is my [adopted] daughter Clara. We came here because Mortar invited us. What's your name?" Clara, having felt more comfortable, came out from behind Reese and gave a small energetic wave.

"Nora. Uh sorry to say but Mortar's not around right now. But feel free to come in." [b]She steps away [/b]

Reese and Clara glanced at each other, then stepped in. He took a small glance at Nora a bit curiously, then turned back ahead. "So what is this place?" Reese asked.

[b]Nora closes the gates and walks into the middle of the room [/b] "This place in particular is an old training ground."

"Interesting..." Reese observed. He took a small look around at the empty space inside. "So is this the main building, and are there others here?"

"The main building of what? The dojo?"

"Oh, yeah, sorry. I probably should have been more specific." Reese apologized, smacking himself from inside his head as he did.

"All good. No this is not the dojo. Not even close in fact."

"Huh, so then this training ground must have been abandoned," Reese noted. "Kind of a shame; it's a great work of architecture." Clara walked around for a bit, staring curiously at the brick patterns decorating the walls. "So are there others here? How did they get here (Clara and I can't remember how we got here either, for some reason)?"

"Well there are others. They got here by walking. The dojo is only a few miles away."

"I remember Mortar mentioned something about an 'initiation' or 'admission' of some sort," Reese explained. "He said that I should look for a lieutenant or someone like that." Clara then came back and looked at Nora, inspecting her from a distance.

"Ah yes. You must battle a member of the dojo."

[spoiler]Reese already did, but I'll see if I can play along. 😋[/spoiler] "Oh..." Reese said, realizing the next set of events soon to follow. A look of surprise was shown on Clara's face.

"Alright..." Reese said hesitantly as he dawned his mask and flung out his Pulsur gauntlets, Aces at the ready; he told a defensive stance. "...alright." He collected himself from any nervous or hesitant feeling and cracked his knuckles. "Alright."

[spoiler]The Aces are his built-in energy shotguns; they're in his gauntlets.[/spoiler] Reese assumes a defensive position, ready for any movement. "Ladies first."
