Snipers do not need a nerf. Many of your points are quite wrong, and invalid. 1. You claim that AA "aims for the person". This is 100% incorrect. On a sniper, AA only increases the amount of time your reticle, which is the circle in the middle of your scope, stays on a targets head when you drag your scope across it. AA doesn't aim, it merely slows down one's reticle when it is on a targets head. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WIVLXxfPFMv 2. You claim that all snipers 2 shot. This is, once again, incorrect. A sniper with a 43/10 RoF to Impact ratio is unable to 2 shot body shot. 3. You claim that snipers have "no recoil for being shot". This is, once again, 100% incorrect. The flinch factor on snipers has increased since Year 1, and it is harder to hit shots when under fire than ever. 4. You claim that snipers are "extremely easy to handle". This is the most ignorant thing I have ever heard. Snipers take a lot of practice and an EXTREME amount of skill to use effectively. No one can pick up a sniper for the first time, and hit all shots without missing. In a game like Destiny, where the maps are, for the majority, small and all engagements are close quarters. With the increase to scope zoom, snipers are incredibly difficult to use. 5. You claim that snipers "turn our favorite game modes into who is the better sniper/dodger". Snipers are not even the dominant weapon type. In Rumble, 6's, and 3's, shotguns are used way more than snipers are. Shotguns are still extremely prominent in the Crucible, and if you look at many of the top tier streamers, such as the LAB, Wish You Luck, Lumi, and countless others, they use shotguns. Not snipers, shotguns. Snipers do not need a nerf in any capacity. Snipers are currently the hardest to use since they've ever been, and if you keep getting destroyed by a sniper, they deserve to beat you. They are the better player and have invested more time to learn a weapon that actually takes skill to use, and deserve to perform well. Finally, you should not be complaining about a weapon class when you: 1. Have only 32 kills in that weapon class. 2. Aren't a top tier player who has mastered all the specials and can unbiasedly talk about each one.

  • You have no idea how many times I bash a sniper in the head and they still kill me with a headshot

  • I have to say, snipers do take skill, just not in destiny. From someone who doesn't snipe, I picked up Zen meteor into rumble and easily went positive with 16 kills and a 1.5kd please note, I never snipe, so from someone who doesn't snipe to get that many kills and going positive, I have to admit, it is easy to pick up a sniper in destiny. I will admit, I did feel "skilled" when using it though, but also a little cheap cause of how easy it was.

  • First off how are you doing sir? It's a pleasure to meet you I always appreciate a kind debater who doesn't throw insults around. Second nearly all snipers two shot I knew their a single rare sniper or uncommon one that doesn't but nobody is going to use that in crucible in the long run because the basic 1,000 yard stare out performs it so I stand by the statement yes all snipers do two shot third any person can pick up a sniper and with a decent reaction and use the small window AA provides and any player can pick up on it because in destiny that window is longer then other shooters. Also what on earth are you talking about that snipers aren't used and dominate in 6 v 6, or 3 v 3,? Look at clash this week or trials any weekend every single person is running around with a sniper and universal remote or body shotting then primary it always happens and you can't deny it. Also you do recoil after you shoot not while getting shot and that is ridiculous that two pulse to the head and a sniper won't zoom out or suffer heavy recoil. Once again thanks for the respectful speech and fair points. If you can stump me I'll change something.

I think there might be some small confusion on what we both define as "sniping'. You say that any person can pick up a sniper and get kills, and I agree. Anyone, and I mean, anyone, can pick up a sniper, camp in the back, and hard-scope a lane for the entire game. In that scenario, it doesn't come down to gun skill, it comes down to reaction time. But that isn't sniping, because anyone can camp and get kills. The same is said for any weapon in this game. Actual sniping is moving around, not hard-scoping, not camping, but actually doing more than making smores. As for usage, I never said that snipers aren't used and don't dominate, I merely stated that they were not as prominent as shotguns. One runs into less skilled players in these playlists, and thus, one encounters more shotguns. In Trials, which I never even mentioned, snipers are used more because Trials is more competitive. You don't see noobs as much as other playlists, thus, less shotguns. Not everybody body shots then uses a primary. For some of us, who actually have skill, we can hit headshots, and then we have an 82% headshot kills. When you get shot, there is significant flinch on a sniper. Flinch was increased since 1.0, and sniping while under fire takes a tremendous amount of skill to perform. Finally, given that you only have 32 kills with snipers, you can not fully analyze snipers and make an unbiased opinion about them. It's clear from your arguments that you do not understand how a sniper works, and this is unfortunate, as I would gladly debate a seasoned sniper user, not a shotgun warrior who misses their ridiculous year 1 felwinter's.

First off I never used fel winter, thorn, last word, or any broken weapon back in the day I don't use skilless weapons which is why I don't favor snipers and when you describe noobs using shotguns I really have to disagree any player can pick up any gun and use it and yes shotguns used to be the noobs weapon and some noobs still use them but I ve favored shotguns and CQC since the beginning and snipers wheren't as bad as they were due to reliable counters through good primaries. But now snipers run rampant and based on how upset your getting by reducing yourself to name calling (which you shouldn't because your intelligent and not a bad player) makes it seem that my debate has merit. Also don't forget to mention how every sniper back then used luck in the chamber and final round perks and glitches to get easy skilless kills because any noob who picks up a sniper and uses some of the disgraceful ways of using theme. Also this whole shotgun warrior thing if someone who has good reaction time and enjoys getting up in someone else face make them "bad" then what do you call someone who camps in the back of map Harding scoping down lanes? Which any decent players knows how to avoid. Also if a person is using a sniper that's consider sniping like how if someone uses a shot gun their shot gunning

Yes, because addressing others in a civil manner is "name-calling". I'm sorry, but I can no longer take you seriously. It is evident from your ignorant comments that you do not grasp how a sniper works, and are merely a sub-par player complaining about something you can't possibly counter. It's a shame, really, as I enjoy debates, but only with knowledgable, unbiased players. You merely care about your own success, regardless of the detriment to the balance of the game, thus making any argument or debate useless, as no matter how valid a point one may present, you will simply refuse to accept it.

  • No will accept any valid point you provide and I haven't seen any all of I've seen is that because I have a low amount of sniper kills my point are invalid. The easy to handle point wasn't properly addressed either I was talking about switching yet you didn't mention it. Maybe I'm missing something which is fine and I will read over our converstion. But when you use this term of shotgun warrior as a insult that is name calling. Also despite what my K/D says I am not a sub par player just because I was bad at crucible when I started doesn't mean I am now. I would need like 400 something kills without dying once to balance it out. And if you think you can pull that off and go a 400 something kill streak in crucible be my guest.

  • Just to point out, if you look at the numbers snipers are only "dominant" in trials and elimination. Other modes have balanced weapon usage. With regards to flinch, it's there but whether or not it's enough is going to depend on your personal opinion. One thing to consider is what gun you're shooting them with, if it's a high impact gun they're going to flinch more but if it's a high RoF type with low impact they're not moving much at all.
