It's sad when a subclass gets nerfed when it wasn't actually that OP. I used to main Gunslinger in PvP but i just feel so weak and pathetic trying to use it's abilities now. It's 3 shots that actually take a bit of skill to land them all, and it feels easily outclassed by 7 easy to use OHK splash damage hammers. It's melee is unsatisfying to use as at doesn't function as the risk/ skill - reward it is meant to be. Multiple other classes have OHK sticky semi-tracking nades (albeit that don't stick to the environment) that weren't nerfed. I don't want striker to fall. It feels like what all subclasses should feel like. Decently powerful with a few standout abilities. Buff the other classes.

Although I agree with the end part of your post, I disagree with the beginning about Golden Gun/Throwing Knife. First of all, it is only 5 hammers, 7 if you spam it and use forge master. Second, try using it and see how difficult it is to land hammers, especially when the target is in the air. This is why everyone uses surcharge, because it does way more damage and actually is a bit easier to use than hammers, hence why everyone uses it. Hammer are by no means easy to use and it is excessively difficult to lead targets with hammers. Third, golden gun does not take as much skill as you would like to think, the hitbox and aim assist on it is off the charts and is very easy to land at least 2 kills. There is little chance of escape from one if they see you, and the best thing you can hope for when challenging one is a trade, seeing as how it one-shots EVERYTHING now if you use deadeye, including a max-armor, chest-armor wearing, unstoppable-using, striker titan mid fist of havoc. The only reasonable thing to use that maximizes your chances is stickies.

-blam!-ing hell. I wrote a whole in depth balanced paragraph on this subject but NOO, Bungie, my session had to expire. Basically i said- Agree with what you say, plenty of others disagree with me about my opinion on SB's, but i just decided to use it as an example because when i go up against it or use it i find it OP, my personal opinion.
