You can't make any massive PvP changes without affecting PvE. I think snipers are fine. This game is very fast paced and between all the movement abilities, tight corners, small maps, super abilities, etc I feel snipers are fine. I've seen more people sniping lately but it still takes a good but of skill to snipe. And by skill I don't mean the idiot who stands in one or two places a whole game and hard scopes. I mean the ones that you never find with perfect map placement. But even then I usually only die to sniperd we I'm sniping and they get the jump on me or I run into it. Could they reduce the aim assist abit? Sure, but it will greatly handicap new players ability to keep up with the vets and also hurt against shotgunners abusing movement abilities. Snipers also punish moving supers, which is something that's very needed. There needs to be a risk in running a wandering super and there is no risk with a shotgun or fusion rifle if you've got any brains at all. So a in all, do I think snipers need some work? Sure they could have some minor tweaks. But anything to major and you will.end up affecting way more than just "nerfing snipers", it's been fine since year one and it's fine now. At most slightly nerf aim assist and give more scope sway on hit. But not to much or nobody will snipe without aim under fire perk and I will find a shotgun heaven that was Destiny in HoW. Tbh I see more balance between the two than ever. The only problem is that there are only a few good shotgun and fusion rifle archetypes while they're are many more good snipers.

  • I agree with you to an extent. But like you said the only weapon in the game That can't stop a moving super is a sniper and their should be more option beside the melee shotgun/fusion shot (which doesn't always work) or the sun breaker melee where it weakens the victim. You see how little sense they makes, they rolling supers only have to be scared of thing? Also I'm not asking for snipers to be nerfed into the ground just reasonable changes that ll make skilled snipers shine and bad snipers suffer. I also see how lowering a lot of aim assists and other changes could make it harder for newbies but veteran would have to adjust to these changes as well.

    Yeah but my favorite snipers have always been black hammer, spindle, and the efrideets spear (not for final round). They have very little aim assist but I loved them because of the impact. The low aim assist doesn't matter to me. I actually find it easier to shoot people who try to push their teammates out of.the way. Aim assist actually backfires a lot when trying to res snipe. I also see problems with people putting away their sniper at a slower rate. It would make countering other people that can just blink or shade step into your face impossible. I don't want to give another reason for people to have to sit in a specific spot and hardscope even more. That's what is annoying. Most of the time because of radar you can predict the snipers location. I get killed way more by shotguns that know their map placement than I do snipers. Snipers are the only reliable counter to wandering supers. Shotguns and fusion rifles work, but most wandering supers, with the exception of sunbreaker, are meelee range based so they should be playing more around shotguns. Sunbreaker right now imo is the ultimate super. But it's entire class revolves around it so it's fine. But you need to snipe them in the face it burn a super. The only supers that are hard to counter are novabomb and fist of panic.

  • Here the thing those as a sniper you goal should be to keep your enemies at bay and that means judging when to say enough is a enough time for my primary and aim assist is why some of those hard scooters can sit down and aim because any mistakes made get fixed by aim assist. Also real talk sun breaker isn't the best super unless it's an open map but maps like black shield make it super easy to dodge hammers with evade abilities. But that's a discussion for another time. Also about the shotgun comment, shotguns have become so inconsistent even when someone point blank in the chest but people should have to be terrified of snipers during every moment of the game they should be aware of them but not planning entire strategies to handle snipers. Also I see myself getting killed by double body shot scrubs and body shot primary shot and slowing down the switching animations would prevent the body shot primary strategy. Sorry if this was typed hastily I'm extremely tired due to a 13 hour car ride.

  • Lmao shotguns are in a fantastic place right now. Even universal remote is seeing a ton of use. Nag im.good on this discussion. Teams fear my full auto party crasher with aggressive and rifled barrel

  • Yeah I agree with the universal remote thing it ninja buffed unless it was stated already. But for the most part shotguns are in a good place but I ve seen burst to the chest where all pellets hit and a kill doesn't happen. Not saying shotguns need a buff but either I missing a pellet occasionally or hit section off. Also thank you for the discussion it's always nice to see a good player who also can have level headed discussions.
