I feel like most exotics should serve at least one of 3 purposes. One as being a unique weapon. Weapons like QBB and Lord of Wolves, or NLB. Secondly being build-based. Bad Juju can be used of super chaining builds, Monte Carlo for a melee build, etc. Third is being a niche weapon. Having a unique perk that allows it to out perform everything else in situations. Ghorn and Icebreaker being examples. Every exotic should serve one of these 3 principles, or there is no reason to be exoitc. Red Death is just a pusle with feeding frenzy and life support. Thunderlord performs like an average MG most of the time.

  • Yep that's how I see some of them now for nightfall/CoE. Bad juju for super week, Monte Carlo for melee week, and no time to explain was great for precision week especially when juggler was on. The same for armour, the ones that give double melee/grenades are great for that as well but there are so many wasted exotics with weak perks. Alchemists rainment is a wasted exotic on the whole for example.

  • you forget the jack of all trades one that's slightly better than most legendaries with similar stats but not "super" at anything, mida, hawkmoon and tfc for example

  • Exotics that tailor to certain builds sounds like a really neat idea.

Red death was never just a pulse rifle with feeding frenzy and life support. Life support doesn't refill your health instantly with a kill. I'm a little salty with that comment, but since I have about 5K more kills than you do with it, I have that right.

  • That majestic beast has lost its teeth, though. Right now mid-impact pulses require the same number of bursts to kill in PvP as a low-impact one, but fire slower. You have no idea how much it depresses me to see my once-badass, bloodstained rifle being outclassed by a pop-gun that looks like you're shooting someone with a neon green jet-ski.
