Trinary Star Rising Chapter 3 Part 2

The next morning I woke up and walked into the kitchen to see that Sarah had made breakfast and was eating some. “Our first day here and you already made breakfast?” I whispered, not wanting to wake Ashley. “It’s eleven in the morning. I woke up at eight so I figured I would go out and get some breakfast. There’s more by the stove.” Sarah replied, pointing towards a stack of waffles. I grabbed a plate and took some of the waffles and then sat down next to Sarah. “So what else is on the list?” Sarah asked me a few minutes after I started eating. “Pick up new weapons from Banshee-44, go see the Speaker and meet Ling at the Armory.” I replied. “Who’s Ling?” Ashley asked, walking in and filling a plate with waffles. “Don’t know. I was going to ask Will if he knows who she is and where the armory is.” Sarah said. 15 minutes and several waffles later we knocked on the door to Fireteam Recon’s apartment “I’ll be there in a sec.” Felix shouted from behind the door, a few moments later the door opened to show Felix in jeans and a green shirt that said “You say I missed. I say it’s a warning shot.” “You need something?” He asked. I realized that Felix hadn’t taken off his helmet after the test. Felix has dark, green eyes and short, brown hair along with a small knife scar under his right eye. “Do you know who Ling is and how to get to the armory?” I asked. “Actually she sent me a message saying that she needs me to test something. I told her that I’d go the armory at one. How about I meet you at the Hanger at 12:30?” “Sounds good, see you then.” I answered. We walked over to the elevator and took it up to the Tower plaza and walked over to the Gunsmith. “Guardians what can I do for you?” Banshee asked, looking up from the Hakke hand cannon that he was taking apart. “You have some weapons for us.” I said, handing him the list. He took a quick look at the code and nodded. “Congratulations on winning the test.” He said, grabbing 3 weapon crates that were behind him and setting them on the table. Each crate had one of our names on it. “Go ahead. See what you got.” I moved over to my crate and opened it revealing a Hakke sniper, a Suros scout rifle, an Omolon hand cannon and a Hakke sidearm and a Vanguard machine gun. Looking over at Ashley I watched her put away an Omolon scout and fusion rifle and pull out a Vanguard shotgun and rocket launcher. On my other side was Sarah aiming down the sights of a Suros auto rifle, satisfied, she carefully put the gun away and pulled out a Suros rocket launcher. “What else did you get?” I asked, putting away the sidearm and closing the crate. “Hakke pulse rifle and shotgun.” Sarah answered. “Well Guardians if you need any help with weapons come see me.” Banshee said, turning back towards the hand cannon. “What’s next?” Ashley asked as our ghosts transmatted the crates away. “Go see the Speaker.” I said, looking over the list. “Any idea what it’s for?” Ashley wondered. “Could be anything.” Sarah said as we walked over to the northern part of the tower. “Whoa.” I said, staring a contraption that showed a hologram of the Traveller. “This is one of the few methods that we can use to fully understand the Traveller. The Speaker said from the top of a staircase. “You said that you wanted to see us?” I asked. “Yes, now that you finished your test you can get a different shell for your ghosts.” He replied as he handed us a set of data chips that showed us a bunch of different ghost shell designs. “Which one do you like?” I asked Jace who was looking through the selection. “I think I’ll go with this one.” Jace answered, highlighting a blue ghost shell with yellow stripes. “That looks pretty good.” I said before showing the Speaker which design we wanted. “Jace, if you could come over here.” The Speaker asked, pointing to a machine with several nozzles. “Now if you could expand your shell we can start the recolor.” After Jace expanded his shell a fine, light blue mist sprayed out of the nozzles, making his entire shell a light blue. A few seconds later the mist that had settled on his shell changed to a darker blue along with yellow stripes running along the top and bottom of the shell. “What is this?” I asked, studying Jace’s new shell. “It’s just glimmer that has been programed to stick to the shell and to be a certain color.” The Speaker answered, loading a new design for Holly into the machine, which turned out to be just red stripes on the side of her shell. Apex went with a black shell with white stripes. “Are you all satisfied with the new designs?” The Speaker asked while we inspected the new shells. “I think we can all say that you did a great job. Thank you.” I said. “It’s the least I can do.” He replied, turning back to his desk. “Let’s see if Felix is at the hanger already. I said. When we walked inside we found Felix standing by the entrance, watching some of the docked ships get repaired. “You all set?” Felix asked, turning around. “Yep, just have the same thing as you.” I replied. “Good. Let’s go down to the Armory then.” We walked back to the way we came and into an elevator that took us down to a room with ancient armor sets through out the decades. “I’m at the forge Felix!” Ling called out through the loudspeaker. Felix nodded and walked over to a door that had the picture of an anvil seared into the door. Opening it we were greeted by 2 guardians sparring. One of them in the traditional Hunter armor, another one in a set of what had to be Titan armor that was grey and had red light coming out of the joints of the armor. Immediately the Titan noticed us and motioned for the Hunter to stop. They both turned and the Titan took off her helmet revealing a Chinese woman that had a proud look on her face. “Good to see you Felix. Did you bring what I asked you to?” she asked. “Ling you know that I always bring Loki’s daggers with me.” Felix replied, pulling out one of the knives that he fought me with. “Good, I want to test the new armor against your knives.” Ling said, putting her helmet back on. “Why not use a regular Hunter knife?” Felix questioned. “We already did.” The Hunter said, holding up a chipped knife. “Ok then I’ll use the daggers.” Felix replied, pulling out the second knife and assumed a fighting stance. “Care to start the fight Dave?” Ling asked, not taking her eyes off Felix. “Sure. Are both sides ready?” Dave asked. “Yes.” They both replied simultaneously. “Alright 3. 2. 1. Begin!” Dave barely finished before Felix and Ling ran at each other. They traded blows for a while, nether one getting the advantage. Eventually Felix reversed one of the knives and stabbed at Ling. The tip of the knife slightly embedded in her arm. With a jerk he pulled the knife out of the gauntlet and immediately went for her chest while she was distracted and had the same thing happen. Instead of pulling the knife out Felix brought the second knife to the hilt of the first knife and formed his sword, which went through the armor and out her back. With a grunt Felix split his sword and moved the knifves in opposite directions, cutting Ling in half with a burst of blood. A few seconds later the body disappeared and Ling reappeared. “What else can the trickster’s blades do?” Ling asked unfazed by what happened to her. “You never show all your tricks.” Felix replied, sheathing his knives and letting his armor disappear. “In all seriousness you did a great job on the armor.” “Thanks.” Ling said, turning towards a holoscreen and running some command on it. We all turned around as we heard something open behind us. The door that we heard open had 3 armor sets, one of them the same set that Ling was wearing. “My gift for Fireteam Winter. 3 full Spektar sets.” Ling said, pulling out the armor stands that they were on. Looking over the set of armor she gave me it seemed like something suited for a place farther to the north, the helmet’s visor looked like a ski visor. Around the hood of the cloak was a fur trim but upon feeling it felt cool to the touch. “What’s the trim made out of?” I asked. “It’s a tougher version of what they used to make ghillie suits.” Ling replied. “Cool.” I replied, taking note of the spare air fliters. Looking at the chestplate I saw 2 holders for spare sniper clips. The gauntlets had arm guards running from the wrist to where the elbow would be with more ghillie trim at the ends of the guard by the wrist and elbow. The boots had the ghillie trim at the top of the boots with extra armor on the left knee. The cloak was black was a light blue arrow pattern in the center. “Ling this is amazing.” I said as Jace transmatted the armor. “Thank you.” Ling replied, turning back to a table littered with armor parts. “So now that everything is done what do you want to do?” Felix asked us. “How about we test our new weapons in the Crucible?” I suggested. “Sure, Meet me in orbit.” Felix said, turning around. “But we don’t have ships.” I told him. “Holiday keeps a few ships for new guardians.” Felix stated. “If she’s out contact me and I’ll pick you up.” “Alright, see you in a few minutes.” I told Felix before entering the hanger.
