Yeah because pointing out the major changes is to make people feel superior, of course.

This isnt about elitism, it to bring to light the noticeable changes and difference between what y1 was like and what this game is now. It not a knock to y2 or a handjob for y1. It's just to say that some for the better and some for the worst this game has morphed.
