Screamo where you can't even understand the lyrics.
Cannibal corpse would be a prime example, however I'm glad I can't understand their lyrics...
Listening to either genre, you might as well be dead ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
Nah screamo sucks but death metal has some real hidden gems if you look hard And melodic death metal is my favourite genre, its much easier to respect and understand regular death metal through that
-
Instrumental Melodic death metal is great!
-
Its incredible :)
-
I don't really listen to metal of any type so my knowledge is very lacking in that aspect. Hence me mistaking cannibal corpse for screamo, if that's even considered metal, idk
-
None of these people know what they're talking about either. Screamo is a genre of hardcore punk that died off in the 80s.
-
Modern screamo is shit like Hawthorne Heights or from autumn to ashes. Total poop imo
-
Hawthorne Heights is Emo and From Autumn to Ashes is metalcore.
-
Ill just go back to my hole with my Pantera and GWAR i guess.
-
Most hardcore metal fans detest screamo haha, that tends to fall into metalcore, along with the crap like bring me the horizon and asking alexandria. I personally dislike cannibal corpse but they are talented in their respected genre. I'd recommend giving metal a shot, even if you need to start in hard rock and transition into it, as its such a deep genre that really feels satisfying to explore and develop your tastes to
-
That explains a couple of the other responses I've gotten. I have listened to Metallica and a couple other bands, just not regularly.
-
Yeah we're quite a touchy bunch :P And Metallica are good but they're a bit overrated imo, try not to go for the very mainstream bands because people get very overhyped about songs that aren't very beginner friendly. If you would like recommendations or help getting into the genre, hit me up with a pm :)
