I wouldn't know. I rarely ever listen to either genre so they sound the same to me. Not saying they are the same, just I wouldn't know the difference having barely listened to them both.

You'll quickly find that Cannibal Corpse is shit and a terrible front for modern death metal. And if those two bands sound the same to you, then something is horribly wrong with the way your brain processes sound. Both death metal bands, 2 completely different sub-genres. Edit: Screamo is a sub genre that died about 10 years ago.
