It just occurred to me, when we are in the Vault of Glass for the Paradox story mission, and you decide to go into the "No Time to Explain" part, we run into what can be described or argued as a Taken version of Atheon. What if he never really died but then got taken AND on top of it is still maybe alive even after the events of Paradox?
Posts thoughts below.

I agree that atheon can warp back in tima to do it all over again.
-
I have never completed a raid mostly because i have complete noobs who cant figure out how to use the relic. Also they never can figure out that in crota's end you just keep running until you reach the portal. And i wont even tell you about fall of kings! It was a nightmare!
-
Atheon's fall isn't over... because it hasn't happened yet... and it will happen again.
-
No, I just pushed him off the edge.
-
Atheon is alive because he can control time so he just reverts time over and over allowing infinite raid completions
-
God I hope they are working on actual NEW stuff.
-
I can see the next dlcs being a taken version of vog and crota.

That vex at the end of paradox looked nothing like Atheon. Its not argued if he is or isn't Atheon.

When the gaurdians downed atheon he never really went away. I think i know where he went too. My theory is that when he desintegrated he didnt go away but he teleported into everyones anuse's. Thats why everyone in the forums is butthurt all the time and salty. They just have a little atheon in there sphincter.

If i could bring my efficiency/duration/strength build valkyr in he would be.
-
He is both dead and alive. Standing fully alive and being slain at the same time.

Taken version of atheon...? So if I go onto a mars patrol and fight a taken minotaur boss, I'm actually fighting atheon which looks nothing like him? Astonishing!
-
Do we gaf about the lore? F*ck nooooo
-
It's called Paradox for a reason. That was a different timeline and I doubt that was Atheon. It was just a taken gate lord that you had to fight.

Well that's a Minotaur so no...he died

I like to think of the vault-reality relationship as a highway. The highway itself is space-time. The direction if traffic is time and the cars are people and things. There are multiple off ramps. These exits are the entrance to the vault. The vault is where ever the exits lead to so who the f knows lets make it a McDanks or something. you got off the highway at one point and entered the vault. Time dosen't flow in the vault and space is a warped concept. Let's say there's another highway that runs the opposite direction along side the original one. This will be an alternate dimension. The exit in the other highway still leads to the vault. Theoretically, if I were to get off at one point and do something in the vault, then my past self would get off the highway and see me change the vault because the entrance in his time still lead to the same vault and becuase time isn't a factor, the effect would have no point in time to happen. So if anything happens it the vault, it has happened, always will happen, and is still happening. If we killed Atheon in the vault, he never existed in the first place. I'm pretty sure I'm wrong about this entire thing though. In short, there was only ever one atheon, and we killed it.

Does one life across infinite realities equal immortal life? I believe the vex seem to be able to time travel because they are teleporting from one of these realities to another. Atheon would still be alive if this was true. Then again there would be an infinite amount of our own guardians....

The greater question is can any Nexus Mind truly die? What if all the information that comprised your consciousnesses, knowledge, and experiences was saved before you died. If it is placed in another "body" are you still dead? When a Guardian dies is their "soul" simply moved from one body to the next, or are they recreated from scratch only thinking that they are the same person because they have all the memories of a person that is now dead and gone forever? Things to ponder over.
The Restorative Mind says yes.
Atheon was the central point to the Vault. The Anchor holding the timelines in one place, this allowed it to push and pull time as it wishes, pulling vex from one timeline into another, securing victory in that time. In short, it was destroyed once and for all when we destroyed it in the Vault. Will there ever be ANOTHER Time's Conflux? (confluence? I forgot.) maybe. Maybe not. The vex are still trying to access the Vault's power. The Oracles are still a thing. Who knows where the Gorgons are, and maybe the Templar can be remade.

Edited by Magic_Nek0: 5/14/2016 3:54:13 PMIn the timelines where you've beat the raid, yes However, reentering the vault may just be entering for the first time in an alternate timeline. The description of a trials item (I forgot which) says "does a single life across infinite timelines equal infinite life?"

The real question is are all bosses really dead? The awnser is No. We go in everyday, week month, killing the same bosses over and over and over, somehow they just respawn. Ps. this is a joke.

Hey, check my recent Topic out, I could need you there. You know a lot about the lore of destiny
-
Yeh he's dead. The Vault is broken once you and your fireteam go in and finish what Kabr and his team couldn't. The taken invading the vault is them just looking for power.
-
Yea no he's hidding in your closet
