My wife and I are with you on this. She had the unfortunate desire to choose an obviously female gamertag and the amount of "attention" she gets in game is laughable. We were actually discussing starting a clan for couples to play with other couples. She tried Dame of Destiny thinking that was a way to do it but they don't allow men period and were waaaay to large for her to get into anything.
