So I have a concern I would like to express.
Both my girlfriend and I are avid Destiny players. We both love raiding and doing POE and all of it. We both love PvE and PvP.
My concern comes in this, we do have a group that will do all of these things with us. But as it stands all of us have jobs and/or school. So sometimes it is difficult to get all of us together.
So what my girlfriend and I do is get a team of randoms.
Why is it that just because she is a woman that plays games she gets automatic passes into every group there is. Yet I have to pass some sort of test. We will even ask for groups with room for two for both of us. And as soon as they find out she is a woman they will invite her anyway and tell her to ditch me.
I have even had groups hit on her while I am in the chat. She is an amazing woman and tells them to stop or we are both leaving.
Most of the time we have to end up leaving because they wont stop.
I have even heard a guys girl yell at him to stop or she would break up with him.
Just because she is a woman she gets treated like a slut from multiple other people.
Why is this a thing.
When did disrespect become the common thing.
Edit: Thanks for the responses guys. I also have an experience to add that I forgot to mention on here. I have one female character which is my warlock. Well while on my warlock and with my girlfriend, A random guy at the tower decided to try and add us both. And as he put it he thought he it the jackpot. Like wtf is wrong with people that is so wrong and disrespectful it isn't even funny.

Don't take it serious. My wife plays too and she laughs at their attempts to hit on her. The more you play it cool, the better it will be for the both of you. Confidence is key, if she is really into you then you've got nothing to worry about.

My suggestion is find a good clan that isn't immature and stick with them. Too many asshats that plague this community. Have your friends play with em too just so your web of friends gets bigger.

Hey OonaDracomagus, I think the issue is the maturity level of the kids you're running into while pubbing. I'm a member of an adult oriented clan founded by a woman. We have multiple women in the clan. We are all friends and respect one another, and we have a lot of fun playing this game together. We are like a family. At the end of the day, it's just people. Everyone is different. Relationships aren't easy. You need to find the right group of people you want to spend time with. You can't just push a button and have the perfect clan relationship. Lol. I was playing trials this friday with two girls that I was play with. One of em is my bff and we play pretty well tho! We went flawless, and their gamertags both have their real names : Bianca and Anne. We lost the first round on the 9th match but we managed to do 5-1. They tbagged us in the 1st round. Suddenly, right when we were in the lighthouse I received a TON of messages, hate messages btw. All talking trash about my friends because they were women, they said shit about their parts and stuff... Really got me mad I stopped playing that day. This world sucks sometimes :/

unfortunately there are many poorly behaved, disrespectful, young apes in the gaming world who can't get ladies in real life so they take to the internet to try to peacock away their shortcomings to people who can't be bothered to prove otherwise. also a lot of boys play who haven't become men yet or learned proper manners. you can often tell by their negativity, derogatory comments, insults, and improper grammar.

While this resolution was being discussed,on June 11 a committee, consisting of John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Robert R. Livingston , and Roger Sherman was appointed to draft a Declaration of Independence. In his Autobiography written in 1805, Adams states that the committee of five decided upon "which the declaration was to consist", and it then appointed Jefferson and himself to form a subcommittee to really write them down. Now Jefferson and Adams have two completely different versions of what happened then. Adams says: Jefferson proposed to me to make the draught, I said I will not; You shall do it. Oh no! Why will you not? You ought to do it. I will not. Why? Reasons enough. What can be your reasons? Reason 1st. You are a Virginian and a Virginian ough to appear at the head of this business. Reason 2nd. I am obnoxious, suspected and unpopular; you are very much otherwise. Reason 3rd. You can write ten times better than I can. 'Well", said Jefferson, 'if you are decided I will do as well as I can'. Very well, when you have drawnit up we will have a meeting. Jefferson's version is completely different. In a letter to Maddison of 1823 he writes: Mr. Adams memory has led him into unquestionable error. At the age of 88 and 47 years after the transactions, . . . this is not wonderful. Nor should I . . . venture to oppose my memory to his, were it not supported by written notes, taken by myself at the moment and on the spot. . . The Committee of 5 met, no such thing as a sub-committee was proposed, but they unanimously pressed on myself alone to undertake the draught. I consented; I drew it; but before I reported it to the committee I communicated it separately to Dr. Franklin and Mr. Adams requesting their corrections;. . . and you have seen the original paper now in my hands, with the corrections of Dr. Franklin and Mr. Adams interlined in their own handwriting.
