Destiny mythos

You have probably noticed some of the obvious references in the Destiny universe, like the similarities to the Cthulhu mythos by Lovecraft, or the ornithological names in the warlock wardrobe. One of my favorites is the Arminius-D which is probably a reference to Battle of the Teutoburg Fores and chieftain Arminius. This tread is intended to function as a tag for discoveries of new references.

  • I just received the ship "Teihards war" from a faction package. It's identical to "The Climb". While most people are dissapointed by this, I'm fascinated. If you google Teilhard you'll find the ship is probably a reference to the paleontologist Teilhard de Chardin. He coined the term noosphere. The Climb might be a reference to the constant expansion of the sphere :-) You can read about Teilhard here: http://www.teilharddechardin.org/index.php/biography
