This whole thread is filled with reasons as to why it's OP and what should change. Listen up kids cause I'm about to take those reasons and break down why they don't make sense, Barney style. "It shouldn't affect me in so many ways!" The combination of being blinded, slowed, poisoned, and suppressed is meant to set you up for an easy follow up kill. Removing any of these traits makes it not worth the effort. If I don't blind you, you could gun me down. If I don't slow you, you could run away. If I don't poison you, I might not do enough to you before the other traits wear off. If I don't suppress you, you could super me. "The Nightstalker is the only one who gets a grenade in the melee slot!" The Sunbreaker is the only one who can create sunspots. Gunslingers are the only class that can buff their gunplay from crit kills. The point is, each class has perks and advantages others don't. That's what makes that class special and makes destiny different from CoD. "I should be able to double jump while smoked!" Then why bother using two abilities when you can just jump out after taking a half second of damage? "If you get hit with the Wombo Combo, you're dead [insert stupidly high %]" The best thing about this particular combo is that walking is pretty damn effective. Unless I hit you dead -blam!-ing center and you panic, you have a chance to walk to safety. I've done it and seen it. Now if I start shooting you before or while in the combo, then you are dead. Which is how it should be since I spent two abilities and bullets to get 1 kill. But that's no different than being hit by an incendiary grenade before or after being shot.

  • Honestly, I agree with this. I view Nightstalker as a crowd control subclass, and a combination of those two abilities are very effective with crowd control. Sure, you may not like being wombo comboed, but taking anything away/reducing anything from these two abilities would make it quite ineffective. And before you say I'm "a whiney huntard," I'd like to say that I main a Titan. Just my two cents.

  • I love control its the only playlist I use envenomed in lol enemy is taking zone b wombo combo right in the middle guarantees two kills frequently.

  • Whilst I agree with the majority of what you say, the amount of disadvantage the enemy is put under by the smoke seems excessive imo after using it today, blind/slowed/no jump/abilities etc all seems too much tbh, just my opinion, slowed and slightly blinded would still give you a massive advantage over the enemy.

    Without the effects of the grenades it's practically useless. In a game like CoD or Battlefield a smoke completely cuts off fields of view, much like the smoke and blinding. The movement speed is reduced so you can just run through it taking one tick of damage, it would make the smoke very ineffective. And in a game where the enemies have so much health the tick damage makes it easier for a mop up kill. The grenade works perfectly and if it lost any of those effects it would break it.

  • I'm all about Bladedancer. I've rarely used Nightstalker in Crucible. But I totally agree with this post. If someone nails me with the combo, they deserve the kill. And I honestly don't think it has ever happened to me. It's just the latest thing that's cool to bitch about. It is not useable often enough to be considered OP in my opinion.

  • No it won't. Even 25 seconds is a long time in crucible. And nobody, I mean nobody, has success every time they use it.

  • No sorry i was unclear. Im just saying i find it useful for if im hurt and recommend it for crucible if you struggle like i do. That thing has kept me alive so much or stalled long enough for a team mate to arrive.

  • Yeah. I've seen people use it to great effect. Sadly I usually forget I can even do it, lol. Ultimately, I'm just not good at it. But one of the biggest reasons I use Bladedancer is for blink, so I get the bonuses of an evasive move.

  • Where did I say "doing this produces a 100% success rate". Surely you understand that the ability to use it more often, increases , or at least should, increase the likelihood of your successions? I main blade run tarantella. Usually have my super mid to late round 2. That makes a hell of a difference, generating kills is the main aim and nightstalkers forte is the wombo combo as the super is meh imo. So having the abilities that make that subclass what it is, is extremely important and mostly beneficial in my opinion.

  • You said it would change my stance. It doesn't. I run the tarantella too. But does that mean I'm suddenly OP because I can use my abilities more frequently? Of course it makes a difference. That's why people spec for it. But that doesn't make it OP to me, and does nothing to change my stance on that. Are there abilities that annoy me? Sure. I despise shoulder charge and firebolt. I rage at the fact that our grenade got nerfed to the point of bouncing off of people, but fusion and magnetic grenades practically follow you. As a fellow Bladedancer, you know what it's like to get slammed with nerfs. It sucks. And it shouldn't happen to every good option in the game IMO.
