Oh boy, everybody listen up. There will never be a better origin story than the one that birthed Not Real Beef. A few years back, in my 8th grade History class, the teacher was quite the strange man. I won't use his name for the sake of privacy, but I'll say his last name sounded kind of similar to "Corn Starch". Being the mature 8th graders we were, we started calling the poor guy Reginald "Reggie" Cornstarch. This isn't important to the story, but he had a reputation of being a bit of a child predator for some reason. One day, a kid brought up the topic of Beefaloes. You know, the mix between a Cow and a Buffalo? (They're real if you didn't know, Google it). We had been learning about these obscure hybrid animals in our Science class. Basically, Reginald "Reggie" Cornstarch didn't believe us that Beefaloes existed. We gave the poor guy a run for his money about how wrong he was. We probably made him want to move to Zimbabwe and become a lone fisherman. As a part of the campaign to convince Reggie about the existence of the majestic Beefalo, we started the saying "Believe in Beef". So pretty much, the beef wasn't real in the eyes of Reginald "Reggie" Cornstarch.
