Mine is simply my nickname since high school days. I even use it to sign my art. I have "Skruffy" tattooed on my arm as well. It all came from the policy at my school about no facial hair (other than sideburns no longer than the earlobe, or a neatly trimmed 'stache) and the fact that my hair would grow stupid fast to the point I would have to shave every day to not get in trouble. So I'd go a few days without shaving, and my friends would call me scruffy. So I changed the 'c' to a 'k' and made it my own.
