A now 13-year-old boy says he’s haunted by the image of his mother pulling his younger brother into a basement bathroom and hearing him scream “you’re killing me”
The six-year-old victim later told police that his mother said “they were going to be safe from dad” before cutting his neck and putting him in a bathtub with running water, court heard during the woman’s sentencing at Saskatoon Court of Queen’s Bench on Monday
The woman showed a level of planning when she locked the doors and blocked the windows with pillows after her ex-husband came to her home

This evil bitch who tried to kill her own sons just so her ex husband couldn't take custody of them is getting away with only 5 and a half years in prison.
She clearly showed that she had planned it beforehand and she had no mental problems. This is attempted child murder.
If a man did this he would be locked away for life, but this bitch is just getting put away for 5 years.
Why is it that women get much shorter and lighter sentences than men?
Edit: Can we not have this thread devolve into a circle-jerk of feminism hating and actually have a discussion though?

That's called attempted murder. Asshat. Edit: Just read the rest. Said she had a dissociative disorder during the stabbing, which means she had a loss of consciousness or, more likely, a sort of "replacement" of consciousness where she isn't 100% aware what she's doing- this means she has had serious trauma in the past. While that does explain her shortened sentence, it doesn't explain why the justice system has failed to transfer her to an insane institution.
