In my opinion, that's how Sniper Rifles should've been in the first place.
Long-range, passive weapons should always hold less ammo in total when compared to close-range, mobile weapons..Though Shotguns apparently got the same nerf so whatever Bungie.
But I hear you; it really sucks for PvE. Especially since we're used to having so many shots.

It's not just being used to having that many shots, it's that the game is [i]designed[/i] around having that many shots.

kings fall was built around having snipers the way they are. changing them to have significantly less ammo reserve will break it and only make the raid much more difficult without it even being the main endgame experience.

That's fine if sniper rifles do slightly more dmg. Long ranged, precision weapon with low ammo I'd expect high dmg too. But you can't ohk a full health major Captain with shields in a heroic strike And I'd think you should, personally

I love sniping, but I hate most of the people who use snipers because they camp. If all my opponents played like me, I'd be a lot happier. [spoiler](Happier because they're not used to sniping without camping so their strategy is gone and a lot happier because they don't have the skillset required to pull off said non-camping strategy. They become easy pickings.)[/spoiler]

Though when you have a long-range weapon like a Sniper Rifle, a target 'coming to you' can be from literally across the map; so long as they're in your sight lines. It's why camping with a Sniper Rifle, to people with at least half a brain, is fine. They're not intended to be close-range weapons but Call of Duty's quickscoping fad has warped the role of Sniper Rifles into some "rush" weapon.

The real camping that's bad is hallway camping. Sitting (or prone. ugh) in a back corner looking down a long hallway or path with only one entry way. If somebody stays stationary at the top of the hill in the middle of an open map that's cool by me; that's why I do and it takes skill to take on and kill people from all directions. But if you're camping the same way people camp with a shotgun only using a sniper and the lone doorway is a fair distance away, that's when you're a dirty camper.
