• Pvp is the only thing keeping this game going at the moment. You can't keep a pve game going without regular content updates and there's no way Bungie can keep up with demand for that I think the PoE side of this free update was originally planned as a 1 week special event and the rest was scheduled for the September dlc. They just threw it all together to keep players

 • it's true that PvP is the only thing going for Destiny right now, but remember when there was lots of PvE content? Good ones? why can't they bring that back? Probably because of Activision and Bungie's baby- BungiVision

 • Destiny was released too early. It should have been held back for a year. Bungie spent year 1 finishing the year 1 dlcs and getting TTK ready. The year 1 dlcs should have been finished before Destiny was released and TTK should have been well into development at this time. That would have left Bungie time in year 1 to finish TTK and do the year 2 dlcs. They released Destiny too early (maybe pressure from Activision) and haven't been able to catch up. This means content has been left behind and we are left with a content drought because we have no dlcs yet in year 2 Hopefully, they have learnt their lesson and that's why D2 is delayed.

 • yeah, it's been confirmed that Bungie was pressured into release by Activision and yeah, they should've finished their game before release, but at least it was playable until they eventually fixed it again, unlike...ughh...Battlefield 4. That game, God rest its soul, was so broken upon release it was basically unplayable but no matter how you put it, Bungie needs to turn its back on PvP for a while and focus more on PvE, you know, the main thing they advertise.

 • Pvp players are usually happy with a couple of new maps per dlc and then they have hours of fun complaining about them The pvp side isn't too bad at the moment; I have played all sub-classes in pvp over the last few months trying to get quests done / grimoire completed. Hopefully, the re-balancing of weapons / classes should be minor this time with the exception of a couple of weapons which are OP and need to be crippled. To be fair, pve is to blame for some weapon nerfs at the end of year 1. Gjallahorn, Icebreaker and Black Hammer were all pve crutches

 • "crutches" that made the experience fun and enjoyable now Bungie's like "hmm...they seem to be using these weapons to breeze by these missions...but they're having...FUN?!" OH HELL NO *flicks switch *NERF "yeah, that'll teach them to have fun while using good weapons. oh wow, one type of weapon is destroying PvP. better just make another one God-Tier for a while and then do it again" the fans of the game seem like little kids in a playground without equipment just kicking the dirt around with their hands in their pockets lookin' real glum

 • It is not free we payed for it in the base game and if they got rid of pvp they would have time for pve because they wouldn't have to nerf everything due to pvp scrubs blaming the wepons or subclasses because they are not good at pvp them selfs

 • yeah, but Destiny wouldn't be Destiny without the Crucible but yeah, they need to fix PvE...fast...or people are gonna leave for good...like I'm planning to

 • If this update wasn't planned by Bungie when the base game was sold then it was not budgeted for at the time of sale big this is the case, it is free. If it was planned and the base game content was reduced to keep it within budget, then it is not free. Bungie may have more time to develop pve content if the game did not include pvp but they would have less money as some players would not have bought the game. They would also have to produce a hell of a lot more content to keep the pve players happy because you couldn't have quests which are pvp and pve or IB or Trials or normal crucible which a lot of pvp players do to take s break from grinding the same old content. In summary, the pvp side of things may be a pain for pve players but the game wouldn't be able to survive without it
I'm a pve player but I can see the sense of having pvp as well
