Since X can be any number, any number divided by zero is invalid and undefined.

No, I mean why is anything divided by zero considered undefined I know that it is, I'm asking why we've decided to leave it at that

The concept is similar to a black hole, we can only assume what's inside, and we will never know what is inside forever and can only speculate. (Interstellar does a weird job at speculating) We just can't really understand why we can't. That's why whenever you get a calculator and divide by 0, it gives an error. It simply doesn't work.
