Commando is unequivocally the greatest action movie ever produced the decade of the 1980s. It's got the right amount of everything: gunfights, explosions, hilariously acrobatic goon deaths in the thousands, machismo, one liners, glorious displays of Arnie's muscular form, a greatly overacted antagonist in Bennett, and more. And best of all, it plays it all [i]completely straight[/i] with no sense of self awareness or poking fun at the ridiculousness. As with the best of the action genre, it takes itself seriously, something most modern action flicks fail to do and thus is why they completely suck.
