An insult is an insult because it's supposed to be hurtful. Someone somewhere will always be offended because it was meant to be offensive. As a parent, I can sympathize with you because I'm sure it hits home for you more so than others. But, as a parent, I'd rather teach my kid to toughen up and let stupid shit slide off her back. I'd rather teach her to punch a bully in the face.
