Trinity Star Rising Chapter 2 Part 2

Trinary Star Rising: The Maze, Part 2 As my eyes adjusted from the light from the explosion Will turned around the corner, wreathed in Solar energy and gripping a hammer similar to what killed Ashley and Sarah. There was also something he had that I did not notice before, he had a saw blade as long as his forearm attached to his left arm. “S*** RUN!” Jace practically screamed at me as I turned and ran through the maze. Eventually after taking several turns I only had the option of going left or right. “Matthew, bad news. I’m getting energy readings that there are tethers either way you go. “Which way has a better chance me slipping by the tether?” I asked, dodging a hammer as it exploded in front of me. “There’re more on the left.” Jace said. “But the energy that I’m reading from them is a lot weaker. “Ok lets hope Felix made a short teth-” I was cut off when a tether wrapped around both my legs and pulled me towards the center of the tether and then 2 more tethers on the wall grabbed my arms and held me a few feet off the ground. “A good attempt to run.” Will said, walking towards me holding a shotgun over his shoulder. But you were never going to escape.” “The tethers.” I gasped from the pain of my arms being pulled by the tethers. “You can tell where we are when we get caught.” “You are correct. But sadly the other teams will have to figure it out themselves.” Will pointed the barrel of his shotgun at me. I closed my eyes and waited for him to shoot me. I heard a strange noise and then felt a wave of heat. Opening my eyes I saw a blue and purple ghost floating where Will was. Behind the ghost was Sarah and Ashley, holding a Solar fusion rifle. “How are you guys alive!” I said, shocked and still hanging from the tethers. “I saw Will kill both of you!” “He did. Once Holly told me no one was near I self-revived, revived Sarah and we followed the Solar energy that’s left behind from Will’s super and we followed you here.” “Well nice hearing that but can you get me down? My arms are killing me.” I said. “Sure.” Ashley said, destroying the tether on my right. Immediately after it was destroyed my left arm felt like it was getting ripped in half from the sudden change in position. “I think that dislocated my f****** shoulder.” I said trying not to succumb to the darkness at the edge of my vision. “Sorry.” Ashley focused on the other tether and destroyed it. I then unceremoniously fell on my left shoulder. “Yea, it’s definitely dislocated.” I said while Sarah shot the tether that held my legs. “Well, you know how to self-diagnose, I’ll give you that.” Jace said as he relocated my shoulder. One of the biggest things that I could never understand with Ghosts is that they could heal most injuries a few seconds after their guardian is attacked by something. As Jace was almost done healing me I remembered something. “Wait, shouldn’t there be a relic from killing…” “Me?” Will said appearing in front of me. “You are correct.” As he finished we all aimed our weapons at him but didn’t fire. “The only reason Frost transmatted me here was so I could give you this.” He tossed something small and white at me. On closer inspection it was a small, hexagonal disc with the Titan Officer Crest. “You’ve killed a Titan, now find yourselves a Hunter and Warlock.” He said turning around and disappearing. “Can I see it?” Sarah asked me, walking over. I nodded and handed her the relic. She inspected it for a few seconds before handing it back. “I thought they might have left a message that you have to look carefully for on the relics, but I can’t find anything on this one.” “Maybe we need all 3 relics and whatever’s in the center of the maze.” I said letting Jace transmat the relic for when we needed it. “Probably.” Ashley replied checking the corridor ahead of us.
