Well those 42 children were being disrespectful to a prophet of God, essentially being disrespectful to god himself. So I see nothing wrong with those events but I'm sure everyone else sees it as horrible.

That's isis mentality.

Sure bud. Enjoy your child molester mentality with that user name.

At least not to you.

Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 3/4/2016 5:03:21 AMThat does not warrant having your flesh ripped into by a wild animal until you die. Especially if it's a child who hasn't fully developed the capacity to reason yet. That's deplorable and anyone who justifies it is sick.
-
I guess I am sick. But I understand the meaning behind that action and I understand that god doesn't just do things without considering the individuals heart condition. But let me catch myself though I forget you're more than likely an atheist and won't care.
-
That awkward moment when your belief has you justifying murdering children.... Me? I'm a rational person willing to question things if it warrants it.

Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 3/3/2016 4:46:12 PMAnd this is why I take issue with that level of faith. That is what it can reduce us too. Some of us are so sad and fearful.
-
I'm neither sad nor fearful. It's just it's usually at this point of the conversation I remember that there's no point in trying to convince someone when they already have their own beliefs, just like you'll never convince me the bible is wrong or god is cruel. So we can leave it at that or continue in vain, but I warn you I get lazy about typing responses.

Whatever you need to tell yourself.

Actually I apologize for implying that you are fearful and sad. That's not necessarily true. You may just be ok with murder.

They were kids, everyone at that age has made some dumb mistakes. Would you destroy your children and any chance of them having a better future over something like that?

https://carm.org/why-did-god-kill-42-lads-merely-saying-elisha-was-bald This explains it pretty well
-
Ok, that still sounds pretty violent, but more understandable than little kids that only poked fun of the man's baldness and not young men threatening his very life. My mistake for the misinterpretation, thanks.
-
Or try's to justify killing children through divine intervention. Makes total sense. Analysis checks out 110%!

What's the difference between Christians "interpreting" the bible and Muslims "interpreting" the Quran?
-
I have yet to see Muslims actually support their questionable content with evidence of translating faults
-
I don't have that sense of judgement. I can reprimand my children, but I certainly can't kill them for being foolish. If I lived in that day in age of prophets and divine intervention and my children were killed because they dared to say to a prophet of God 'hey go die baldy', which is essentially what they said I'd be ashamed of the fact I didn't raise my children better.
