They will not bring back Y1 strikes for the sheer fact that people who haven't bought TTK have access to it and they don't want to reward them appropriately unless they buy TTK.

They wouldn't be able to access it at 170 Light.
-
It's not a matter of access by virtue of light level, it's the fact that they have these strikes because it's part of the original game they have bought. The only way for these strikes to come back would be to include them in Destiny2 albeit a little different. If Bungie shuts out the players that still play because they didn't buy TTK, they would lose face and their player numbers will suffer greatly, if not already.

Your point is moot. Omnigul is in the year two nightfall list and that's a year one strike.
-
You're right, but this discussion is moot as Bungie won't do anything about it. They have to do something new otherwise people will leave
-
But its not like non Taken King users can play the Nightfall considering the huge level difference. And any rewards they have are useless because they would need to be level 40 to use them, a level they can't reach without TTK.
-
I agree, I haven't done nightfall for 2 months now. Rewards are crap compared to the grind you put in. I just recently started doing Shaxx's weekly crucible bounties (I hate Bungie's version of multiplayer) just because the rewards is a little better compared to nightfall.
They will not bring back Y1 strikes for the sheer fact that people who haven't bought TTK have access to it and they don't want to reward them appropriately unless they buy TTK.
Man I never thought about this. I just figured they pushed the hell out of new content. What assholes

Except Omnigul is a year one strike and that can be the nightfall... so there are already year one strikes in year two nightfalls.
