I run a Voidwalker but only because their blink let's me have the agility I enjoy, but realistically, they are probably the weakest class rn. Blink is its only redeeming feature imo

  • there is no weaker subclass because with the exception of maybe 1-2 specific perks here and there as well as sunbreaker armor, the classes are balanced. one could also say bladedancer, but thats a hit detection bug mostly. there is no stronger subclass either. just people more or less skilled with the game or their prefered subclass. its all about knowing how to use your abilities, gun play, and adapting playstyle to fit a subclasses strengths and weaknesses.

  • Defenders can cancel any super with their nade, spawn orbs for teammates and can allow one shot sniper shots.

  • Shatter bomb vs bubble. Who wins?

  • You can shut down the bubble but the WoL and you can easily escape the nova bomb by backing out. Nova bomb lasts longer and gives a constant buff while up. Even if you shoot down the bubble, a good defender will survive your super an kill you right after.

  • a good voidwalker will see anyone in the bubble making a bolt for survival, and adjust their aim accordingly to maximise kills. a better voidwalker will be ready to dispatch any survivors by using the momentum maintained by casting a ova bomb to carry him into cover to withstand a counter offensive. thats part of why most void walkers have a habit of jumping before casting it, to take advantage of the momentum. along with giving us greater distance with a non-lance nova bomb, and a better veiw of where the (hopeful)crowd of targets is going to let us make last second aim adjustments. unfortunately that habit tends to bite us in the ass when casting into doorways :P

    A good anything will jump into the air before casting a super to prevent getting headshot mid animation. Nova bomb also has a tendency of usually not killing anyone only destroying a bubble if they have armor or blessing. The super has no grenade and horseshoes perk, can be easily avoided and has a much smaller radius then a FoH. Defenders can cancel any super and keep a Voidwalker from popping their super by simply suppressing them.

  • they supress everyone else too. no super is immune, so why target nova bomb specifically? its better against suppressors than a roaming super because its a one off. if they dont suppress you in time, it dosent matter. and yes death in animation is another reason, but nova bomb is one of several supers that gets additional advantages when cast mid-air, as i listed. as for not killing people, thats why you dont aim at the bubble. you have a few precious seconds between casting, and actually launching the nova. you use those seconds(plus shatter to allieviate AoE issues you mentioned if you have them or simply enjoy the perk) to watch the people in the bubble manuvering, predict their intended escape route, and adjust your aim to target the escape route before you fire. odds are the bubble will still be close enough to be popped, assuming you didnt kill the escaping defender. also, nova bomb doesnt have a 'nades/horseshoes because it has tracking. the angry magic perk. as for having a smaller radius than the fist, you can change that by using the shatter perk on nova bomb itself, or use the annihilate perk to "increase the size of explosions from nova bomb and grenades". as i said. like any class, ya gotta know the classes strengths and weaknesses and mechanics, then play to them.

  • I'm not saying I don't know it's weakness or strengths. It's the class I use every weekend to go flawless on my warlock, but of all the subclasses, it is the weakest. Especially in 3v3 games. You have no idea how many times I've blinked out of the way of a Nova Bomb. I Garrison out of their way all the time. The super can shutdown a super but it is easy to dodge it.

  • 1- if your going flawless in ToO with it regularly, you have no business calling it a weak class. "i win the most intense PVP event in the game regularly with this class because it shits the bed! bungie, buff this class!" see the disconnect? :P 2- if you have issues landing shots with nova bomb, again, the shatter perk is your friend. as is either angry magic or annihilate. i have no issues getting my nova bombs to connect, unless i -blam!- up my aim. even with WoD, twilight garrison, shade step and blink all in play.

  • 1- I'm not asking for a buff. I am simply stating it is the weakest class. I only use the class because it lets me have the agility my blade dancer has. 2- I don't use my super regularly. I only use it against supers that are close range and slam it into the ground. I rely more on my gunplay than any super in the game.

  • I play on the class because I don't like the warlock glide and it has blink. That's why I said that for me, it's only redeeming thing is blink.
