That's common when doing interviews. The interviewee agrees to it but only if refrain from certain topics. Also, a line of questions is submitted beforehand. Any found that are not desirable by the interviewee are off limits. Without these ground rules they either wouldn't agree to the interview or would dance around the question, making for an uncomfortable situation and probably no more interviews for that podcaster.
