WELP HERE COMES THE LOGIC OF THE ORDER OF OPERATIONS IN ALL CAPS. ARE ALL YOU KIDDIES READY? WELL THEN LOOKING AT THE USUAL "PEMDAS" ACRONYM WE HAVE: P- PARENTHESIS E- EXPONENTS M- MULTIPLICATION D- DIVISION A- ADDITION S- SUBTRACTION SO WHEN WE LOOK AT OUR PROBLEM WE SEE THERE IS A SET OF PARENTHESES WHICH CONTAINS (2+1) THIS COMES FIRST. SO NOW WE HAVE 6/2(3). HERE IS THE CATCH. JUST BECAUSE MULTIPLICATION COMES FIRST IN THE ACRONYM DOES NOT MEAN IT COMES FIRST. MULTIPLICATION AND DIVISION ARE THE INVERSE OF ONE ANOTHER. SO WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? THIS MEANS THEY ARE EQUAL IN OPERATION. SO IF TWO PARTS OF AN EQUATION ARE EQUAL IN OPERATION THEN WE DO WHAT IS NORMAL...READ LEFT TO RIGHT THUS: 6/2 (3)=9... IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THIS GO BACK TO 3RD GRADE AND READ YOUR NOTES.
