Wrong, go learn your order of operations again because you only know enough to turn up the wrong answer. Parenthesis then multiplication and division from left to right then addition and subtraction from left to right. Pay more attention in school mate.

  •
Parenthesis still come first If u have 3x3(3) you do 3(3) before 3x3
Type it into google it will give you 1 as answer for the OP math problem

  • Type it into google.......smh. If you don't believe me try punching it into an advanced scientific calculator. There is only one correct answer and that answer is 9. Like I said, pay more attention in school.

  • It is merely a matter of convention (not a matter of right or wrong), giving us a standardized way to decide whether 6/2*3 is (6/2)*3 or 6/(2*3). (6/2)*2(1+2)=X Is A DIFFERENT EQUATION than 6/2x2(1+2)=X Changing the equation WILL change your answer

  • Alright, I am going to walk you through the equation using your linked page. 6/2(1+2) "1. Things in parenthesis get computed before things not in parenthesis (this is because of the (little known fact) that parentheses kick ass)." 1+2=3, this leaves us with 6/2(3) "2. Then, exponents get dealt with (including roots). Hence a^b*c = (a^b)*c." There are no exponents in this equation so we still have 6/2(3). "3. Next, multiplication and division get carried out from left to right. So a*b/c*d is ((a*b)/c)*d. Note that division can be thought of as still carrying out a multiplication since a/b = a*(1/b), so it makes a certain sense that neither division nor multiplication takes precedence over one another." So, 6/2=3 This gives us 3(3) which is equal to 3x3. 3x3=9 "4. Finally, additions and subtractions get carried out from left to right. Subtraction can be thought of as being like addition since a – b = a + (-b) so it makes sense that subtraction is treated on an equal footing with addition." There is no addition or subtraction outside of parenthesis so we do nothing here which leaves us with the solution which is 9.

  • N is not an exponent. Seriously, enjoy your career in flipping burgers. Who know, if you try really hard you might just make it to fry cook.

Idk m8 You do the multiplication into the parenthesis before multiplication or division outside the parenthesis Im not math incapable I was a power generator mechanic in the US army; u got any idea how much math is involved in setting up a power-plant and electrical grid? https://productforums.google.com/forum/m/#!topic/websearch/kZkTv_WTSxA

    6÷2(1+2) THREE WAYS to solve this question: 1st WAY: just forget about the PEMDAS or BODMAS rules, lets come back to the origin of mathematics which is solving human's problem: assumption: Have 6 apples, with 2 classes where combination of 2 boys & 1 girl. So, each of them get how many apple(s)?! thus, 2 classes , 2 boys & 1 gals = 3 students + 3 Students = total 6 students Now, only have 6 apples 6 apples for 6 students. Therefore, 1 student only have 1 apple = 1 (answer) 2nd Way: 6÷2(1+2) lets assume y =2 so that , 6÷y(1+y) = 6 ÷ (y+y^2) now replace 2 into y it shows 6 ÷ ( 2 + 2^2) = 6 ÷ (2 + 4) = 6 ÷ 6 = 1 (answer) 3rd way: 6÷2(1+2) lets assume (1+2) = a so that, 6÷2a now = 6/(2a) 2a is slightly different with 2 x a ; please dun tell me that is (6/2)x a !! lets simplify = 3/a now replace (1+2) into a = 3 (1+3) = 3/3 = 1 (answer) if you not agree again! fine lets go for the 4th way 4rth Way 6÷2(1+2) from this equation , we would say it has two group , A = 6 ; B = 2(1+2) lets 6÷2(1+2) = z so that, A/B = z A = zB 6 = z[2(1+ 2)] 6 = 6z z = 6/6 = 1 (answer) come on, don't be stubborn any more. i am going to END this Equation now. No its not 9 its 1

  • There is only one way to solve this equation and I walked you through it. There is only one answer and that answer is 9. If you can't understand that you are not intelligent enough to waste time talking to.

  • Did you even read the reply i gave you at all? And no there is never only one way to solve a math equation Using 9 as the solution is incorrect Implied multiplication TAKES PRECEDENT over displayed multiplication Hence why its called implied multiplication (multiplying into parenthesis N(x) comes before n*x )

  • I can see you failed math. When the problem gets to 6/2(3) the order goes from left to right, it doesn't matter if it's multiplication or division, it goes from left to right. Perhaps you need to take an 8th grade math course again?

  • Exactly, but it goes left to right. So you divide first then multiply.
