Change Trials: Cycle Flawless against Flawless!

Rebalance

361

Don't rebalance

132

Players in the Destiny community are struggling to reach the Lighthouse even once in Trials of Osiris. Myself and my friend have faced trials every week since it began in Year 2 and we have never reached the Lighthouse ourselves. OPTION A I am proposing to level the playing field more accurately any fireteam with 2 or more players who have gone flawless in Year 2 are automatically entered into a pool of 'flawless' fireteams. However if a player has not been flawless on the character they are playing at on the time, they are not considered flawless. I believe this would greatly shift the balance to where it should be, rather than a first-time fireteam facing a fireteam of 3 flawless players with Adept weaponry and advanced trials gear. To increase the incentive for flawless fireteams to continue playing I would suggest increasing the probability of items being rewarded at the end of the game and increasing their light level to 318-320. OPTION B By popular demand I would like to also suggest an alternative. If a player achieves flawless that week they can compete in an flawless pool for that character for the rest of the week. Benefits: "Carrying" will be less commonplace and Trials of Osiris will be based more on competitiveness. Members of the Destiny community who offer carrying services for payment will now find it much harder to continue. Opening up the possibility of a true Trial for being the best by putting up repeatedly flawless champion teams against each other rather than allowing them a cake-walk each week put up against lesser players. Thank you all for your input. Please remember to keep your comments civil and polite. Edit: Many people have replied to this poll/suggestion with immature and frankly irrelevant sarcasm. If your going to be salty that I made this, comment it elsewhere because this is a serious suggestion for Bungie.

  • Option C: let people who have never been to the lighthouse go to the lighthouse after completing a card even with losses on it but nothing will come out of the chest... Problem solved.. :)

  • Trails was a bad idea that needs to be removed in favor of an actual game mode.

    • No I don't support this at all ! Either get good at pvp of get carried by a top tier player that's how it's been since day 1 . Trials is the ultimate test of skill in destiny . You don't ever hear a pvp player saying " make it so the raids are less challenging to complete "

      • No. Learn out to get good. Plus, the people that have gone flawless enjoy preventing people from going to the lighhouse

You mean the sweet 261 boots you'll get? Sure, some are over 300 but they're not any better than raid gear. And adept weapons? People use mida, last words 1Kstare, and party crasher. This is destiny, there are 4 guns. Other than that I agree with the rebalance

Hey Bling posted something similar here in Feedback - Lighthouse Lockout - how do we combine posts & get Bungie's attention?

            • I agree with Option B... BUT, and please think about this, Option A would just re-create the current situation after so long. Think about it, flawless would become easier and easier every week, as more people leave the "non flawless club" and enter the "year 2 flawless pool". So, then as each Trials get easier, you have players going flawless and being entered into the "year 2 flawless pool" who wouldnt normally go. Thats a good thing you say, right? No because then everyone is in the "year 2 flawless pool", with all the sweaties who run cards over and over again just to ruin other people's chances. Leading to the same situation we have right now. Remove Option A and keep the push going for Option B, because that is by far the best way to better Trials every week.

I go flawless every weekend, its easy for me. However, why would anyone continue to play after you already go flawless? Its not like you get anything better after you pick up the chest. There are those people who only play to make others miserable and thats just messed up. If a person goes flawless, they shouldn't be allowed to continue playing. Or make it so they get thrown into the flawless pool. I think everyone deserves to go to the light house at least once. All these others players who are salty about it are greedy as hell and should just be kicked out of destiny, this is a damn game after all. Some of you guys take this game way to serious.

              • No. I don't do pve much....but i'm not going to make a post about removing the raid bosses so I can beat it easier. Btw, it's called "trials" of osiris......not osiris' walk in the park. It should test your skills.

                • Look at all the Nerf Cry Babies. If you can't take the heat, get out the kitchen. It's called Trials for a reason. I'll be sitting on my throne on Mercury once again this weekend.

                • I agree. I proposed in the forums a flawless character on Trials weekend cannot be recycled into general population. Instead, that character is cycled with other flawless players until reset. This would eliminate: - very skilled flawless players preventing others an opportunity to Lighthouse. - "carries" It would also establish a premiere pool of very skilled players to face themselves until next weekend's Trials.

                      • I think the issue is more in the meta. It was easy to go flawless in Y1, but now it actually takes quite a bit of effort. Honestly, in my opinion Trials doesn't belong in the game the way it is currently set up and crucible needs a complete overhaul before it is ready for a Trials style competitive game type.

                        • You shouldn't have to play only against people who achieved the lighthouse if you've already been there. This basically makes it completely easier for people to get to the lighthouse which is a goal that is only supposed to be achieved by skill not matchmaking. I tried to say this as clear and as nice as I could

Looks like this is clear feedback, people want the current system changed. And this just represents the hardcore players that post and review the forum topics. I'm certain the real world poll would be much more in favor of change. If we learned anything about how elitism works in this game, and how bungie ultimately deals with it (ghallahorn etc), eventually bungie will give everyone a clear path to visit the lighthouse anyway. It is after all everyone's right that bought a game that's based on RNG and luck.

                            • While I like that you post is well thought out and not crying l do disagree with your idea. Unless you are OK with only going flawless once and then being put in the same level as the elite players then it just doesn't make sense. Hopefully you will be able to get a team together and make it there at least once it is a cool place. Good luck out there gardian.
