Quria and the Vault of Glass

Now, it's no great secret that the efforts of one Quira, Blade Transform are linked in some way to the Black Garden, however if you haven't heard of it yet here's some evidence from the Grimoire
Quria captured some worm larvae and began experimenting with them. Soon Quria, Blade Transform manifested religious tactics. By directing worship at the worms, Quria learned it could alter reality with mild ontopathogenic effects. Being an efficient machine, Quria manufactured a priesthood and ordered all its subminds to believe in worship.
-Verse 4:9 — open your eye : go into it
how can machines have a god? ...The Vex, for all their voracious intelligence, could not understand or decipher what they found. They searched through all available reactions, and they settled on the course with the greatest payoff...to worship this power, and to remake themselves in its image.
-Ikora Rey / Sol progeny
At last, the Heart of the Garden has been destroyed, its stranglehold on the Traveler released. Our Light brightens. But the power of the Vex is not broken. Look into the Vault, Guardian, for it is said to hold powers the Progeny were meant to bring forth
- The Speaker / The Black Garden
Deep in the Vault of Glass, the fabric of reality bends to the will of the Vex. Warlocks speak in tones of awe of the Gorgons - creatures that seem to possess a dreaded, almost unimaginable strength: an ontological weapon.
- Gorgon My theory, is that due to the Vex's time-traveling nature these events might be closely linked in a causal loop across space and time, this is because from what we've been presented Quira should have been able to gain far more power from Worshiping the 'Deep' (The Hive's word for the Darkness) though the entire Collective Network of the Vex, using Sword Logic on every planet they have conquered to rival that of the hive "Imagine, the machine worlds of the Vex surging with Taken Power, this must not be guardian" Ikoa Rey / Dialouge from the mission 'Paradox' For the Vex, cause does not necessarily have to follow effect, therefore the Black Garden is not necessarily a result of Quria's findings but an aspect of them, the engine in which the Vex Mind learned of the powers of Worshiping the deep. If this is correct, then it greatly increases the impact of Guardians actions in the Black Garden / Vault of Glass, by breaking the patterns of the Vex's Causal loop they may have inadvertently sabotaged Quira's struggles against the hive, now would a completed Black Garden have allowed Quira to manifest the Power to defeat Oryx? Gorgons against Deathsingers? It is unlikely due to Oryx's overwhelming strength as The Taken King, but it does bear thought, especially as the Stranger was so concerned about it's potential.

  • I believe Quira is there god/there leader and since it hasn't been destroyed the restorative mind couldn't rebuild it and the vex invaded our solar system to find it, and that the black garden/heart thing that we fought in the final story mission of vanilla destiny was there only means of communication with it. Just an idea....

I agree with you that the Quria's incursion into the Hive throne world is linked to the events of the Black Garden and the Vault of Glass, but I think we disagree on the exact relationship. 1) The Vex created Quria, who deduced the working of Sword Logic, which is a physical law applying to everything in the throne worlds, as apposed to only those with worm symbiotes. They killed everything they could so that they could become gods in the Hive throne worlds by the law of sword logic. Worship was also discovered as a source of power.
The Vex clattered around, constructing large problems. At first their constructions were deranged, because they didn’t understand the sword logic, which defined all rules in Oryx’s throne world. The geometry perplexed them. [...] But just then, the Vex ritual-of-better-thoughts manifested a Mind called Quria, Blade Transform. Quria deduced the sword logic. I have to kill everything, Quria resolved. Then I will be powerful.

Soon Quria, Blade Transform manifested religious tactics. By directing worship at the worms, Quria learned it could alter reality with mild ontopathogenic effects. (Verse 4:9 — open your eye : go into it)
2) Oryx returned and defeated the Vex. Quria was captured by Oryx, but it broadcasted information to the rest of the Vex regarding the ontological power of the throne worlds, and likely also about the power of worship.
Quria shuts down its weapons and puts all its spare resources into sending telemetry to the greater Vex. There will be points in space and time where this data is vital. There will be great projects undertaken in the study of this ontological power, this throne-space. (Verse 5:1 — End Of Failed Timeline)
3) With the data received from Quria, the Vex contructs the Vault of Glass to emulate the ontological power (power over existence) found in Oryx's throne world. They construct Templars, oracles, and gorgons with the power to edit things from reality.
Like the Oracles and the Templar, the Gorgons reputedly possess the ability to define what is and is not real. (The Gorgons)
They also learned the power of worship from Quria, and they find and worship the Heart of the Black Garden (a Darkness fragment) to harness it's power. 4) After learning the ontological power from Oryx and replicating it in the Vault of Glass, the Vex were planning on bringing that power to the rest of the universe to effectively take over the universe. The Progeny (which were possessed by the Heart of the Black Garden) were meant to distribute that ontological power beyond the boundaries of the Vault of Glass to all of reality. The Heart of the Black Garden was essentially a battery used to charge the Progeny so that the Progeny could carry out the reality takeover.
Look into the Vault, Guardian, for it is said to hold powers the Progeny were meant to bring forth. (The Black Garden post-mission quest text)

If physics is a set of rules that the cosmos uses to calculate itself, perhaps the Vex seek to worm their way into these calculations: to become a law of reality, inseparable from existence. A virus in the system. (Atheon, Time's Conflux)
5) I can't say for sure if the Vex are not practicing sword logic by wiping out life and Vexaforming planets, but I think the point of specifying that sword logic is a physical law in the throne worlds is to make the distinction with our universe which does NOT have sword logic as a physical law. It only applies to the Hive in our world because the Hive have the worms, but the Vex refused to take in the worms, so outside of throne worlds, sword logic should not apply to them. Wiping out life on planets is likely just a side effect of expanding their network with more machine planets.
For some Vex reason, Quria never attempted to introduce worm larvae into its mind fluid. (Verse 4:9 — open your eye : go into it)
