Please explain your answer Note : Also check out this reddit post, its another experiment done with Grimoire NOTE : GHOST GIVE 760 NOTE : CALCIFIED FRAGMENTS GIVE 310 If a person has more experience they tend to have more skill. I am not saying all low Grimoire score players are bad, I am not saying all high Grimoire score players are good. But majority of the high Grimoire score players are good, and majority of the low Grimoire score players are not good. Think about it, there are a lot of people with low Grimoire scores, some this might be there first FPS, some might be extreme casuals, some just don't care. But people with high Grimoire score play the game a lot, they care about the game and spend a lot of time on it. Let me give you an example. I have been doing this for the past weeks and it has worked out for me. When I am looking for a raid group I would go to LFG and post something similar to this.-
Need people for a fast raid run. Only requirement I have is must have a 4600+ Grimoire score
And I posted this morning -
Looking for 5 players to do 2 fast runs. Only requirement is to have a 4600+ Grimoire and have enough time to run it more than once. 1 run should take 50mins.
The people who met the requirements had no problem messaging there Grimoire score, but others got so mad, they called me a "grimoire scub", "fu.cking retarded", and more stuff. Some people can't read at all and posted their light level. I didn't care about light level at all. It happened every week I've done this. It was really ridiculous. Do you want to know the time for all 3 of my runs? 54m 27s - http://destinytracker.com/dg/4662858649 (Warlock) 1h 4m 53s - http://destinytracker.com/dg/4663058534 (Titan) 51m 39s - http://destinytracker.com/dg/4663230540 (Hunter) All of these runs went smoothly, becasue of that one requirement. If I would've had a light level requirement there is no telling what will happen, majority of the time it just goes bad. It is so easy to get carried to 315 and it is so easy just to get there without trying. Grimoire score shows more skill then a light level. So please don't message me on LFG if you don't meet my requirements and don't say "add me" if you don't meet them either. It's my fireteam, if you don't meet the requirements then you can't join so don't rage at me. Do you rage at someone asking for 315+ light level when you are 313? Do you rage at someone asking for Black Spindle, when you don't have the gun yet? Now let tell you what actually goes into a Grimoire score, and its not just dead ghost - Your grimoire score will increase if you : Get Crucible kills on Warlock, Hunter and Titan Get PvE kills on Warlock, Hunter, and Titan Played during the House of Wolfs days, when fallen attacked on patrol Killed certain bosses in PvE Killing an amount of certain enemies in PvE Get weapon kills with all types of weapons, not just a shotgun and hand cannon ;p Playing multiply PvP modes and winning at them, not just control and iron banner. Playing maps in Crucible for the first time. Playing events in the game, Finding ghost/frags exploring the game. All these will increase your Grimoire score, becasue it gives you a feel for the game, you are playing the game while doing this. Yes this might be like other FPS games but it still plays a bit different. Yes some people have an awesome FPS background and are already amazing in PvP. Someone who has been playing longer would know more. There are some prodigies in the world but not a lot, it takes time to get good. Remember in Elementary school when your teachers would always say practice makes perfect, it actually works a lot of the time but not all the time. PvP Skill section of the tread - When I look for a trails group on LFG I always say have a 1.3 KD or higher because my KD is 1.3. I do not base PvP skills off grimoire, because lots of people have a FPS background and are good.

Yes, usually. A higher grimoire score means more experience. Which usually translates to better pve skill. I know this isn't 100% accurate!!! It's the same thing with medal score. If I need to judge someone's skill from a glance at their stats higher medal score people are usually (not 100% of the time) are better. This is because if you have a lot of medal score, ie: in the millions, you obviously play pvp a lot. Then if you play pvp a lot you must probably enjoy it. And you enjoy it because you are a good player and do well in games.

  • Sometimes grimoire score can be a good indicator of skill, but not always as for example: I have been playing since the beta and have a fairly respectable score, but that doesn't mean I'm a god at this game, especially in the crucible. I'm a terrible joke when it comes to the crucible.

  • Flat out, a higher grimoire score means a player is more experienced. That doesn't guarantee that someone 4800+ is fantastic at Pvp, like myself (the 4800 bit, not the fantastic at Pvp part), but they have at least made their rounds in pve.

    • Well grimoire indicates how much you do in destiny so yeah valid point, but as a lot of people say grimoire is exotics, ghosts and calcified fragments but not how much times you did the raid. Its a tricky thing. Someone with 20+ completions can still have a lower grimoire. Pvp and k/d not the best if you play a lot of rift, busy with a exotic bounty, Sword, chaperone etc.. I like the combat rating on destinytracker better, you can see more skill there.

      • High grimoire does not equal skill. High grimoire is an indication of experience. Two totally different things. I have a high Grimoire (not the highest) I'm am rubbish at PvP.

          • Max Grimoire yes as it means a lot of PvP wins and a lot of game time. High grimoire definitely not as finding ghosts and completing al lthe PvE content is easy.

          • To me yes and no. I played destiny on 360 then switched to ps4 for ttk and restarted. Now that I don't have the grimoire score I used to everyone things I'm a new year 2 player when I've been playing since the beta

            • If someone has max grimoire I would assume they are skilled at pvp (purely because of the rumble wins) but is no indication at all of pve skill, only of time invested on the pve side of things

            • High grimoire doesn't mean shit.. Mine is quite high and I'm shit. I spent hours grinding hydra and ogre kills.. Look at someone like poshy, last time I saw his was around 2800, yet he's up there with the best players. You're telling me you'd turn poshy away due to his grim?? I think not.

              • Grimoire is more of a measure of how much time you've spent on this game & how one sided a gamer you are, to have spent so much time on one game. I know plenty of people with ridiculously high grimoire, and they're not elite at Destiny. They're usually pretty good at trials because they're really organised, but as far as individual skill goes, they're nothing special. And when it comes to other games? forget it, they're scrubs. I have two PSNs with grimoire split over them but even so I just cannot be bothered to go farm stupid things I need to, to achieve a higher grimoire... like who gives a f*ck about that? I prefer to be good at all the games I play.

                • Grimore might not be an example of skill (some for sure) but def dedication and experience. I would rather my team be full of high grimore than with people 3800-4100. 4600 is a reasonable number for people that have been around since vanilla and TDB. It's not just finding ghosts. Op is being reasonable and I might even start requiring the same when I do raids.

                • So I'm now 4120, you wouldn't take me in your raid. I havent collected any ghosts apart from ones I found by accident. If I got all of them Id probably reach 4600 and I'd be skilled enough to raid with you. Sounds legit
