Just play whatever u like to play with. I've gone trough trouble getting that thorn and when i finally got it i enjoyed playing it. If Bungie didn't want us to play with Y1 weapons they would have changed things big time.

So you fought fierce battles in the crucible with void and killed an unwed wizard in a well remembered strike to get this weapon? I did that but I dismantled it in year 1 because it was a really cheap weapon to use in the crucible and it could get it back easily. But I never got it back, until Xur sold a primary legacy engram in year 2.
