Read this: Crybabies about Y1 weapon use
I sometimes use Y1 weapons (PvP) just because i like them. It doesn't mean that i don't know how to use the Y2 weapons..
Yesterday i was playing crimson and i used the thorn just because i haven't played with it in quite a while and to complete the bounty where u have to make kills with different weapons. We were on round three when i got a message from the opponents saying, scrub no skill thornbitch...
I was like wtf dude get a fking life.. first it's for the bounty and second so what if i use thorn (he was playing icebreaker)... It takes no skill?? The weapon doesn't fire by itself.. U still need to aim and shoot and fking hit the target.. It's not like the weapons is aiming itself and killing sh*t while i just run circles...
The bit*hing part of this community needs to stfu and get a life.. Nobody ever complained when they were killing shit with the gjallarhorn that it's too OP... What do people wanna see, Ban of year one weapons and the by far OP weapons now?? Then what?? There will always be weapons better then other weapons. Fking deal with it or ask Bungie to delete all the weapons but one in PvP. That way no weapon will be OP... No fking wonder we had so many OP weapons during certain months.

1999 vs 325 in the (i'll admit biased) poll. I have been trying some Y1 weapons in the trials last weekend and i've come across a lot of players doing the same. Ice breaker was a favorite and of course Thorn. When looking at the map I still picked my Mida, since is I believe more effective then the Thorn because most games were played on range. Equipping a sidearm and switching to a sniper was also popular. I also have to a admit we had some encouters that were really laggy... They just didn't die... Image u Fist of havok someone with the titan and they just run away like u slided in istead of using ur super...
Hope u guys had fun with the Y1 weapons in Crimson Doubles, I know I had a blast.. Enjoy your 320 ghosts guys and I can't wait on more info about the large dlc later this year and the sequal of destiny in 2017!!!
IT'S finally confirmed!! (just wonder if we will have to say goodbye forever to our atm Y1 weapons) What do you guys think/speculate??

Complaining does nothing, people kept the guns from year one so of course they are going to use them. People say that Crimson Doubles should have been level advantaged to prevent year ones but not the case. Always made me laugh that Bungie makes prior DLC guns non useable in PVE because of level/ light but can use anything in PVP.

I dont mind year 1 weapons. I do, however mind obnoxiously overpowered weapons, such as thorn with its stupid d.o.t. and icebreaker when nobody else has special yet.

I was going to agree with you but then you said thorn. Almost all year one primaries are fun to use but thorn is just not fun.

So, I was talking to a buddy of mine yesterday about this. First let me say it annoys the bejesus out of me when I killed by a y1 weapon. But... You know what? It's not a surprise that people use them, some are just flat out more interesting better performing weapons than y2. Do I like it, no. Do I blame anyone for using a y1 in y2, no.

That sniper isn't even a pvp oriented gun and five other exotics have god knows how many different ways to generate ammo. As my thoughts on thorn, I'm okay with it. Easily countered and poison isn't ever the sole cause of death. They outgunned you get over it. Things I miss dearly are Universal Remote, pocket Infinity, and Patience and Time. Bring them back.

I ran The Saterienne Rapier yesterday and got teared up ....it was amazing to use it again. If I equip that gun I technically am still light 301 so hmmmmmm....Trials?

1 ReplyHonestly I hate people that cheese to win. It just makes the game not fun. Those weapons are completely broken and should really be nerfed to the point of complete uselessness. So now I load up into a match with the weapons I intend to use and as soon as people start to cheese by equipping icebreaker (or a sidearm) to get ammo because they can't get kills without special ammo or as soon as they equip a thorn I go ahead and equip mine. At least that way the playing field is leveled. It's just getting old.

I haven't used thorn since before original buff... I remember using it in crucible when it first came out and it was bad... but still fun... I was going to use it yesterday... but I forgot it in the vault and was too lazy to use the app... I'm using it today though.. I also thought about icebreaker... my first exotic and I haven't used that since I got a ghorn at Crota.. I'll use that today too...

I think its year two of a game and evwryone cried about burns on primarys the gally thorn and so..... people will cry but i think in cricible year one weapons shouldnt be a factor at all they arent comeing back so make them use less then have a throwback event to where its a week long and its a playlist of straight uear one weapons only

I think people are still salty about the thorn meta... That and the gun's DOT is strong. Also the 3 body shot kill.
