I made a decision to avoid posting topics whose humor is derived from the reaction of the replies, not from content of the topic itself. Obviously this topic was treading on that line and not many people could see it was satirical. Therefore many angry replies were had despite it being tagged #satire. But rather than leave the thread up with a disclaimer, I feel it's better to take it down. So...sorry.

Stop reusing the old longface's posts

Love the b8 m8 I r8 8/8 don't be l8 cre8 more b8 please

The ESRB does not the rate the game for any online interactions, only for the actual gameplay, dialogue, etc. Basically what you are proposing is banning kids under 13 from using party chat which is by no means your business or your decision to make. Also the camera idea is lacking so much I don't know where to begin. I understand that you may think some younger people have bad experiences online, but of all the ideas, this is certainly a bad one.

Edited by zerorider07: 2/9/2016 3:18:06 AMMy jaw just dropped.....I'm sorry but that is possibly the (insult here) thing I've read in a while. I'm not trying to be an a** but please reread your post. This time think about why this is a bad idea;. Just saw satire. You got me good job lol
-
You stealing posts now? The real Longface posted this not too long ago
-
verify the registration with SSN
So what you are saying is if I give my social security number to Activison or any gaming company. This will prevent a ten year old child from saying he shares a bed with my mother. Great idea.
-
Anyone under 18 should be heavily restricted from internet use in general. Everyone would be better off.
-
Longface this is sad man... You can do so much better...
-
Didn't you already post this several months ago?
-
Isn't this just a rehash of a previous topic you posted?
-
I swear you made one of these before

Edited by Hetzer150: 2/9/2016 2:54:03 AMWhen returning games at Gamestop that are rated M you have to be 17 i think. and I know that Target makes you tell them your date of birth when buying M rated games.

Not sure if this I sarcasm... If it isn't i guess illuminati confirmed? right?... right?

Edited by EggenOG: 2/9/2016 2:52:54 AMWhy are you complaining about kids playing Destiny instead of kids playing COD? Oh wait it's satire
-
Hell I think under 16 should not be allowed unless they pass some sort of maturity test..
also ban hunters who ask for nerfs no matter the age
It's a tricky issue. The ESRB was formed in the face of growing maturity from gaming. When I first started out on NES, there were no ratings on anything. Yet I had a game called Operation Wolf where you can optionally shoot innocent civilians, aid workers and prisoners of war. The fact that Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold played Doom a lot only added fuel to the fire. I've played all sorts of things in my youth, saw my first R-rated movie; The Good Son before I turned 10. Yet here I am doing just fine at 31. Oddly enough as far as being scared, kept up at night, that only happened to me twice from two entertainment-related things; the movie Frantic and the SNES game Illusion of Gaia. Same thing can be said with artists like Marshall Mathers, television too. I worked at Blockbuster Video from August 2005 to February 2011 and had to give advice to parents all the time. From those experiences I can fairly say I leave it in the hands of the guardians of said kids to make the final call. I can advise them as to what the game or movie contains and my personal suggestion but outside of that I did my job. I've also seen really irresponsible folks renting Taken and Jackass Number Two for their boys under 10 years old mind you after I said it's totally not for them. I also did a holiday stint at GameStop from November 2013 to February 2014 and witnessed the same thing. A woman came in with her son's wish list, on it was Red Dead Redemption. Myself and an associate detailed how the PC John Marston, or whatever his last name was, had no soul in regards to certain things like dealing with the random r a p e encounter or gunning down innocents. In the end she bought it for him. And don't get me started on how many returns people tried to do with GTA V. Parental controls exist yeah but like with the Internet, or anything else, if the kids want to indulge, they're going to no matter what. As for Destiny being played by under 13's, it's most certainly not the worst thing a kid could play if you ask me. You are a good character at least in PvE and you only shoot aliens.

Has it come to this that Long Face actually has to add a satire tag to his posting? If that is truly the case, then it is a sad day.. I miss the forums before TTK.. Now if you excuse me, I think I'll find a corner and weep for what these forums have become..
-
I think that should be up for parents to decide. That said, I really wish that PSN and XBL somehow segregated kids from adults.
-
I see satire but still feel the need to voice my opinion on the matter. That isn't a restriction, it's a recommendation. Kids who are mature enough to handle it should be allowed to play (I have been playing gta and halo since I was little), parents should monitor their kids playing games now, especially at this point of time on the Internet.
-
Although I am not a fan of those parents who lazily allow their children to plug into games that are not appropriate, I see two minor potential wrinkles you would want to figure out: *first, I wonder if there are any possible negative outcomes of online underage videos/photos *second, I wonder if there are any possible negative outcomes of having one's SS number connected to either security-flawed console Maybe I worry too much.
sub par satire
Why satire? I agreed...
-
Users under thirteen should be executed.
-
Or the lack of parenting skills. My 12 year old plays destiny with me sometimes and sometimes he plays with other people. He tends to play black ops 3 a lot too. AndI never hear verbal diarrhea such as this coming from his mouth. Why? Because I know how to parent. "Zack. Call someone a Jew, tell them they're gay, tell them to duck themselves. But as soon as you do that. I'm throwing the ps4 out the window." Parenting
-
Yes it should happen in every game with a age restriction
-
That's just a letter to inform the parent of who they should lend it to. (Key word is should)
-
Make it 18. Not much is worse than having to hear some kid on team speak when I don't have it muted
